Namco Taiko Blog (October 8 2020) - Easterly Winds Blows a Sixth Time: Touhou Project x Taiko no Tatsujin Collab 2020

When you collaborate with a franchise so much that it has become easier to mark it by year instead of the number of times... The 2020 edition of the Touhou Project x Taiko no Tatsujin collaboration will happen between October 21 through November 30 on the March 2020/Nijiiro ver. firmware.

What self-respecting collab doesn't have their fair share of featured tracks? This collab will add one new Touhou Project Arrange to the song list in addition to the existing 26:

This collab campaign runs on the ticket system similar to its previous iterations: Banapassport holders can just play on arcade March 2020/Nijiiro ver. as usual (with any song) and get one ticket for every credit. The tickets can be used to exchange for rewards like Petit-charas and Title Parts, as well as entries into drawings for limited-edition ones.

The spotlight rewards are the brand-new bun-form Petit-chara of Reimu Hakurei (Bun) (博麗霊夢（まんじゅう）), and the returning alt-color Marisa Kirisame (White) (霧雨 魔理沙（白）) and alt-design Reimu Hakurei (Touhou Kourindou Ver) (博麗霊夢（東方香霖堂Ver）), with only 1000 winners for each.

Meanwhile, remember the QR Code Reader peripheral that got added as arcade Taiko no Tatsujin cross into the 4th generation? Finally, it is time for it to be in action!

If you get your hands on the special collab QR code from Autumn Reitaisai and scan it with the reader before you play (except Ranking Dojo), Banapassport holders will be able to obtain the previously-exclusive alt-color Reimu Hakurei (Blue) (博麗霊夢（青）); players not using a Banapassport can still play their credit with the Petit-chara equipped. The QR code can be used for unlimited times, so share with your friends (or strangers)!

In related news, Taiko no Tatsujin is once again exhibiting at the Autumn Reitaisai (7th) floors on October 18 2020. Key features include the exclusive preview for the new Touhou Project Arrange song (above) and photo booth amenities for your social media needs. (Please be careful in regards to personal hygiene when attending the event.)
