2nd Nippon Columbia Taiko Contest: Song Entries Now Live!

In a faster fashion than the last one's development, a couple of weeks into the latest Taiko no Tatsujin song contest and we're already up to publicly hear the first submissions! Since yesterday, two pages of song entries have been filled up for everyone to lend a hear to by going on the contest's dedicated section of its website (or by clicking here!); like in the last year, you can also toggle between Japanese and English language on the upper-right corner to see the website version (and the affected song/artist naming) of your choosing.

Once again, we'll be making the rounds as pages get added on, by spotlighting a few of the new additions after everu website update! Already with the first round of submission, we can find the following:
  • Formidable Festa (フォーミダブル・フェスタ) by LeNoir, from the very last Nippon Columbia competition. Fresh of his victory with La Paz no Niji, will he be able to double up with his latest endeavor?
  • VLASTOPiΛ -Xtradoze-, by Reku Mochizuki. Here's a UK/J-Core artist whose works already touched many a mobile music game, including the likes of RAVON, Lanota, Muse Dash and Phigros; if things go well for him, this might become his music game arcade debut!
  • Dash!!! by Aiba Makoto (相葉まこと), breaking into the competition with a jazz-fusion piece to boot. Judging from his social feeds between Twitter and SoundCloud, this seems to be quite the Japanese RPG fan, too!
  • Spooky Dance Party (スプーキィダンスパーティ) by seatrus, another mobile gaming meteor artist who also managed to break into SOUND VOLTEX's overall score with his contest-winning Komorebi ni Saku. Still, many foreign music-game-winning composers have went in the past and very few have emerged triumphant, so it's still anybody's game!

Song of the Week! 28 May 2022

Closing this May in symmetry, after two Variety features in a row here's a 2nd Namco Original in a row! Those keeing in touch with our alternative social media outlets may already have guessed the reason for it...

First Video: Kill My Fortune

We've had our surprising share of playable songs in many a language up until this point, but today new grounds are broken as we can start striking down fictional languages, in this case one concocted by the tune's very same composing unit!

Perhaps, easing the general Donder public to the 'Alician' (アリス語) language may have had its play, but this fierce-sounding beat barges in with quite the approachable Oni trial to take, leaving more than enough room for players to grasp its overall mood in chart-executing form.

Namco Taiko Blog (May 19th, 2022) - Hello, removal

Tomorrow one song is leaving from Nijiiro Version cabinets, but 7 more are about to depart approximately 30 days from then! Most notably is the purging of the two Kizuna AI songs, considering the big kerfuffle happening lately in official Taiko grounds due to Vtubers of a different banner...

Song of the Week! 7 May 2022

So let me rap about that one time when Taiko no Tatsujin collaborating with the DC Comics universe had been a thing...

[Xbox/WinPC] The Return of the Blunders Before Golden Week: April 2022 DLC Addition

Taiko no Tatsujin The Drum Master for Xbox (Series X/S) and Windows PC continues to be the runt of the series being riddled with issue after issue, even with the latest DLC addition. Before that, let's get the substantive information out of the way first:

Now onto the drama: On the day of release, there have been reports of (1) "Taiko Beat Pass Vol. 1" owners unable to play the five tracks of the "Tatsujin: Japanese Pack" and (2) players unable to make new purchases of "Taiko Beat Pass Vol. 1".
While the issues for this release has since be resolved on the next day (2022/04/29), it is imperative to remind all season pass owners to not make duplicate purchases of the individual packs in case of future incidents, as refund requests for duplicate purchases are very likely to be rejected.
