Song of the Week! 27 February 2021

 

To top off the ending month, another song request and a track that has been added at the proverbial 11th hour, in lieu of some recent developments. Off we go!

Namco Taiko Blog (25 February 2021) - The Taiko Team's Official Livestream Recap (with Extras!)

Just like in the past, the Taiko no Tatsujin official blog's latest entry is about the Team's own recap of the anniversary livestream's news content (for which we'll just redirect you to our own coverage instead). This time around, however, it will also be possible for everyone to watch the also-above-embeded run integrally over YouTube, free of charge!

Up until May 19th, the same link of the original broadcast will be available to watch, with a shorter cut being made available over the Bandai Namco Amusement Channel's Archive subchannel afterwards. Be sure to watch this one to the very end, for quite the lovely callback to the livestreaming past of yore!

After the jump, we'll digress upon some additional details that were supplied by Taiko Team leader Etou about the Nijiiro arcades on today's blog entry, namely about a new bug concerning the AI Battle Performance and the next round of song removals.

Don and Katsu's Excellent Adventure (20/02/2021)

 

Four years have come and gone since we last got some official livestream shenanigans from the Taiko Team, with so many happenstances and staff member baton-pass changes around the Taiko scene to mold the shape of what happens behind the scenes of everything surrounding the series.

 
Time has passed, but we're still alive and kicking (corny post titles and all!), with a more in-length look at the latest online venue which summoned the Bandai Namco people who are keeping the flame alive! Being a public broadcast on YouTube, the full rerun is available (for the time being) in the above-embedded video, but after the jump you'll find the broadcast's highlight in still-imagery fashion, together with a brief post-livestream look at eventual updates to each of the newly-announced forays. Let's dive in!

Namco Taiko Blog (February 19th, 2021) - Taiko 20th Anniversary Livestream, the Last Details

 

About eight hours from now stand between us and the eagerly-anticipated anniversary livestream! Before that, however, here's one last blog entry starring the link to the also-above-embeded video to catch the event live (on Youtube too, a first for the Taiko Team!) alongside some brief bullet points on what to expect about the upcoming broadcast:

Available under two song genres and donning a Kantan Papa Mama support mode, this tricky treat is the very last song making its debut before the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise's fabled 20th anniversary, packing quite the punch with consecutive note triplets building up the pressure. [AC0 Asia] Picking Up for Lost Weekends in the New Year: Green ver. 2.0 Asia ver. Febraury 2021 Update

While still not on the next generation, Green ver. 2.0 Asia ver. gets the first update on both the Gregorian calendar year and the lunar/Chinese calendar year. The update brings 13 tracks to the greater Asian Donders, 12 of which released on a Saturday... huh.

Song of the Week! 13 February 2021

The next week has in store for us a brand new official livestream for the Taiko no Tatsujin series, many years after our last one has occurred.

As this line of broadcasts has a history of inviting several Namco Original song composers from time to time, have some of these artists featured here once more, after their series-introductory livestream debut! Kinda funny to think it's been about five years since then, for each of them...

Weekend warriors time, again! With Ponchi's last work (Connect Colors) already spun into the big 19th Anniversary celebration that is Taik-color, it is a great call back when his winning submission to the Faith Creation contest entering just preluding the 20th Anniversary of Taiko no Tatsujin. Plus, having actual real-life Donders participate in the chorus and credited in the subtitle is a great touch.
