Song of the Week! 30 May 2020

With this week's feature, we're finally done with the past contest-winning Namco Original entries... and one month in advance of the CreoFUGA website's shutdown, too!

Once again, today's artist on the spotlight has had his road paved to Taiko fame thanks to his first contest-winning piece, going out in far greater lengths than just one or two comebacks along the years!

[Plus/STH] Don-chan's Taiko Plus 10th Anniversary Challenge Gauntlet

Someone's getting a 10th Anniversary celebration earlier than us, apparently. In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the mobile port of Taiko no Tatsujin Plus (now Plus/Shinkyoku Tori Houdai), the game is putting on the Don-chan's Challenge Gauntlet (どんちゃんの挑戦状) event until June 15 2020.

In two fan-shaped maps, you are asked to play well-recognized Namco Original songs under a goal requirement (like maximum combo and score). Amass points from successful clears and exchange them for rewards including 7-day unlocks of selected event songs.

Points to note:

• Note that for two-way forks, after choosing one fork to clear, you will have to clear the previous node again before choosing the other fork
• All nodes can be played and grant points for unlimited times, so go nuts on farming for points on nodes that you are good at
• You can spend points to pass through stages you cannot clear yourself with the Clear with Points (ポイントでクリア) button
• You can also watch optional ads for more points. Consumerism!
• Rewards exchange will be available for one more week (until June 22) after the end of the event for you to use up your remaining points

Ever since the beginning of the worldwide pandemic craze, the Taiko no Tatsujin series' official blog has been dormant on the update side of things, and when service-related arcade news are served, these come by through the online Donder Hiroba instead. The latest notice of which involves the removal of a couple of tracks, slated for June 23rd.
