Taiko no Tatsujin song titles sporting a Japanese wording may come in many different flavors, from different alphabet spelling to fancy composite letters to make complex writing appreciators squee with glee. We've got among those a_hisa's Rin, the just-revived-for-April-Fools Ka and the just-added Ko for April's beginning, but the most intricate title wording in a short space yet can be easily handed to this one, bringing the Chinese-originating general nomenclature for two class of mythological creatures: all the monsters that can be found in the mountains as human-faced, beast-bodied entities (Chimi) and all the spirits belonging to the water, rocks and trees (Moryo).
Signing his Taiko debut with the piece is the current youngest talent in the HARDCORE TANO*C label: an artist going by the name of Laur (website; Twitter; SoundCloud). Born March 24th, 1997, his song tend to intertwine live instrumental cues to orchestral and more folksy tones, mostly chiming to the Arabian style, while mostly going for -core genres and the occasional experimentations in other musical fields. DJ MYOSUKE personally scouted him for a seat among the TANO*C label crew in 2018, ballooning in many a music gaming stamp of his own both before and after his freelance days' end. He's also a certified Level Infinite Sound Voltex player, so he knows his skills stuff too!
Speaking of that, SOUND VOLTEX alone had 5 of his songs in one version (Absolute Domination among those), with Rayark Music gaming held a seat for him in both Deemo and Cytus II (Me for the former, L'Ultima Cena for the latter) and even Sega having its share later on, both with Mutation on maimai and some of his former tracks getting crossed over elsewhere, or even made song sequel continuations for, like for Viyella's Tears in Ongeki. Two parties, however, currently hold the tightest grip on Laur's rhythm gaming pulse: Marvelous's WACCA in arcade fields, for which he's released more than 5 unique tracks to date (Exitium and DANGEROOOOUS JUNGLE, among those) and lowiro's Arcaea, for which he penned some of its most iconic songs, from PRAGMATISM (which was also extended up a notch, later on) to the very first boss track Grievous Lady, together with Team Grimoire.
