Sonority Scouts - Prankfully Yours, 2022 Edition

This was a year where for Donders everywhere, the April Fools joke was completely on them... but what about other parties? Although less voices have risen in 2022 with unique spins, there surely have been some to parade about. Take a bow, 'cause it's time for a big bounce!

We're literally in "What's Old Is New" territory at Sega's as the ongoing CHUNITHM NEW!! line has been converted for a limited day in the soon-to-be-released CHUNITHM OLD arcades to relieve the ancient times of olden rhythm gaming once more.

Really eccentric newcomers from ancient times, including an Irorimidori cover of the CAT'S EYE are here alongside the new Variety pick from Cranky, who's also held for the occasion quite the unique livestream in which he gathered keywords live for his next CHUNITHM OLD song with all the attenders!

The grand renovator spirit has also struch the very Sega facility ecosystem as well, with the sudden reveal of the maimai-shaped Omega Office! A couple of NAOKI songs are here to celebrate the momentous istance, alongside the uplifting company theme heard during its inauguration, no less.

A little bit on the more somber side, on the other hand, is the Ongeki prank for this year, which involves the ingame idol Rio Takase monopolizing the cabinet card drops for an entire week! Only her cards will pop up as a result of her photoshoot album release for Sofmap, with a few choice exceptions boasting their former debut this exact day one, two and three years ago...

It's early-April extra feature time for Arcaea's 5th year in a row and this time around, it's more of a fan-servicey algorythm reveal of sort at that! After every play of a song, players can see what kind of modifiers are in play for the Potential system used to give players their unique rank, but beware not to voice your dissent by multi-tapping the results after playing one certain summer-variant Navigator image song in order to avoid what lurks behind you... as well as at the sides and on top of the screen!

Former April Fools hits are available once again via the Like-spam feature, but let it be known that now these can also permanently unlocked in-game through the Beyond chapter's map progression system.

At long last, Lanota gets its own limited-time unique April Fools song instead of the usual 'wacky effects' from the past years, while also paying close homage to each of them!

Play Simon Says with cats in this unique chart while elements from the Ghost of April Fools Past flashes you with both familiar chimes alongside fragments of Lanota's own boss songs.

For Pigeon Games' Phigros, to unveil the real prank is to decode the latest underground scientific developments, as it appears that behind a jokey remix to a song... there's another one lying just a bit ahead! All you have to do is to own the purchasable song SIGMA by Kry.exe and do the following:

-) Go over the song in the selection screen and hold your finger on the IN 15 marker for its hardest difficulty for a while
-) Venture through the newly-unveiled 'Haocore Remix' and all the visual spazzing on the house
-) Clear the song between 600.001 and 699.999 points and tap Next in the Results screen

Do that, and a 4 thousand-fold challenge awaits. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Many ongoing videogames prized themselves in teasing/launching short-lived spinoffs of sorts, and it's a habit that Deemo's social account is not letting it slide! while it's only a screen, it soure would be neat a grid-moving turn-based RPG with characters from the piano-based games would transpire.

Don't forget to say happy birthday to Theresa too, while you're at it!

It's also a momentous day for the April-born Graff.J artist from Cytus II, who was willing to share on both YouTube and social medias a 3-track mix on social media for his own workout sessions. Perhaps you'll even find the right mood to ace these songs when you're back with your smart device of choice at hand!

Another must in Rayark April Fools lane is a one-day-only, LV.41 treat for a random veteran lucky entry to gain! This year's lucky winner was Crayvxn's Serotonin, for quite the hallucinogenous results!

Ending up with our look back at 2020's tomfoolery are a couple of returning jokesters that, while not bringing something new to the table, are returning with their shtick from the last years:
