Day 13 - 12 Days of Taikomas

... I have to get clean with you guys: even if a few months have passed since then, I'm still irked at how I was unable to fulfill each song request that we received for our 12 Days of Taikomas seasonal feature... so, you know what? I'm gonna finish the whole thing with those entries that didn't make it, right here and now!

No fancy rhyme butchering this time, let's just GET to it!

Party in the HOLLOWood t+pazolite feat. Nanahira

Little known fact about the eccentric Japanese composer from HARDCORE TANO*C is that he's always been an avid Mario Party player... so much so that he was actually invited at some point as a beta-tester of one of the NDcube-era entried for the series. Hell, he was even asked to make a song for them, titled under the title of "Mario Party in the Hollow Woods". Sadly, due to reserved undisclosed agreement getting breached, the composer was axed off after the contractual beta-testing days and re-worked the earlier version of the song as an album opener some time later.

The only surviving footage to the incident was this t+pazolite Let's Play of the 'hollow' portion that gave out the inspiration of the game. It's also due to this gameplay bit that he eventually asked out the utaite Nanahira (ななひら) to work out for the piece, as she reminded him of the CPU-controlled Boo that opposed him in the minigames while being incredibly shy to the player on the progression board!

Hito-goroshi no Bakemono (ひとごろしのバケモノ) KurageP

Behind this innocent piece made for Hatsune Miku's 10th birthday lies dormant an unsettling secret as the originator of a renowned tale in the Secure Containment Procedures Foundation, or 'SCP Foundation' as it's most commonly referred to.

The song's original name is officially localized in English as "Murder Monster", a Hall of Legend track that garnered an underground fame, not so much for the song in of itself, but for others to emulate. Many anonymous artists have spread in the Deep Web alternate versions of the song as a "secret joy never to be replicated", ultimately morphing the myth into some kind of creature being literally 'molded in the song's shape', eventually leading to the creation of the SCP-5031 entry, also known as 'Yet Another Murder Monster' after one of the many emulation attempts lying dormant online.

Apollo TJ.hangneil

Under the TJ.hangneil handle lies an artist we already met in the main bulk of the Taikomas feature: sasakure.UK, in one of his alternate-alias stunts that have been pushed under an alternate name as some kind of a 'favor return', something tied in to mythology and, more specifically, gaming.

The UK hardcore artist, you see, is a really huge visual novel fan, with one of his early reads being 2006's Fate/stay night. Being engrossed to the magic-based servant system laid upon by the novel, he secretly paid homage to it by titling some of the songs as references to the first TYPE-MOON commercial hits, from references to elements in the game (like AVALON) to a "wish-list" of historical/folklore beings he wished to see a servant form of at some point, like the already-featured Jack-the-Ripper. With the infamous serial killer receiving a servant form with 2012's Fate/Apocrypha, sasakure.UK has thought in the following years to return the favor as one of the other aliases, by titling one of his later tracks as the Greek god of the Sun, one that joined the servantverse roster a few years prior with the series' ongoing gacha game. How could you say no to such a fluffy god?

Blackmagik Blazing Camellia
https://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=23192&type=card

Is it a tiny-veiled reference to one of the composer's first collectible Magic the Gathering rare cards in his own possession -the only 'Blazing' card to date to be playable with black mana- or an elaborate hoax? You decide!

Like a G666 [BRUTAL RHYTHM RIDER] The Quick Brown Fox

What drives an artist to sample popular songs into catchy unique things? Why, to imagine yourself being the subject of the song is one of many paths, one that was also waked by The Quick Brown Fox!

The unique melding of B.o.B, Far East Movement and Public Enemy came to be in the artist's research of a sound that would better convey what does an overworked heatsink for computer processors, with the 'G666' in the title standing for the model of choice in one of the artist's home computers, the Dynatron G666. Not too bad for something that fits into a hand, isn't it?

Kurokami Midareshi Shura to Narite (朧月覆う雲をも裂きぬ) pop'n music

Would you look at that, another Camellia song feature for one day! The genre-changeling composer got the inspiration of this track after one passionate hearing of the formerly-released Oborozuki oou Kumo wo mo Sakinu (黒髪乱れし修羅となりて) and the rest is history.

Naysayers may say how elements of this story have been swapped out, but to those skpeticals I say: prove me wrong with a Full Combo of a pop'n rhythmin song of your choice, I'll be waiting! ;)

Immortal Palace pan

Sometimes an artist nickname lies the leitmotif behind the name of one's creation, a case that certaintly fits into a glove for pan, whose favorite movie about the green-clad flying dweller of Neverland surely inspired. After all, what is the strive of wanting to stay young if not the strife of wanting to live forever?

Beautiful One Day Rhythm Heaven Fever

If you're wondering why does it take too much for a new Rhythm Heaven game to come out, one of the unsung reasons is due to the unique lifetime hobby of lead series music composer Tsunku: scuba diving! Being enamourd with the Australian reef, she also collaborated with the stock footage recording of one early-2000s obscure documentary, whose lineage is referenced as a song title on her games later on.

Attitude Parappa the Rapper

...having searched long and wide on the Internet for reasons of why are there a lot of oranges and strawberries in the song and ending up with no satisfactory answer, bìplease enjoy some vintage Vtuber antics as the closest thing of an answer I've managed to drag up. *bows*

SAY BAY beatmania IIDX

Bay.

Re: THE MEDLEY OF KIRBY SSDX TOMOSUKE / pop'n music

Okay, okay, I might have been running out of time for these last bits right about now, but we've kept the juiciest hidden trivia among our Taikomas requests yet, all coming from a fan remix of Kirby music, of all places! Most shocking about that, is that this has nothing to do with Nintendo's pink puffball...

In one experimental quest to fit as many quiffs and bits for as many musical pieces as all, the composer hapinano has managed to add subtle notches to a nearly-30-minutes-long medley of Kirby music that could be better appreciated by tinkering with the original audio source in many a way! From altering the sound file's extension to Black MIDI reading and all kinds of audio sampling, over 3 thousand songs can be detected inside the original source file in some fashion or another, with an insider of ours finding quite a handful of these, all by himself:

DoLL (Terra) (found in Dance Dance Revolution Supernova)
Thank You wa I Love You (from the anime Kupū!! Mamegoma)

Salut d'Amour
The Swan (from Carnival of the Animals)

Let's not forget how this gargantuan list was single-handedly reported by one unsung hero who also helped me curate this very post due to time constraints of mine: one fellow chap going by the nickname of Gromjamp, going on record by saying (and I quote):

"I've reverse-engineered the code a hundred times and I can 100% attest on its legittimacy. Vocaloids suck!"
-Gromjamp

I mean, this really sounds like a genuine, trustworthy fella! It doesn't happen everyday to find a fellow obscure English blog poster to chime in his unique impressions that are absolutely not the fabrications of one of our staffers under a lazy nickname change, does it? Whatever the case, I'll also leave to him the task of proofreading, as I'm right about at my typing limit for the day. Have a good one!
