Day 5 - 12 Days of Taikomas

On the fifth day of Christmas, a cyan-haired singer has sent to me:

Don't Be Down! (どんびーだんっ!) Aikawa feat. Hatsune Miku and Otomachi Una

*sigh* ..i-it's Hatsune Miku time for today! This year as well we got some fresh Vocaloid requests, all starring the one iconic voice bank in everyone's heart. Granted, the usual "taste divergence" of mine on the topic won't affect the quality of the
written craft out of the way, but I find it funny in a backwards way how the first of three songs I'm going to pen about is literally called "Don't Be Down!", be it a coincidence or not...

The second release from producer Aikawa (藍川), this was Ragnarok's request! With this tune we can nover yet another, more recent voice bank to talk about on this blog: the nasal-voiced Otomachi Una (音街ウナ), debuting with the VOCALOID4 generation also from Internet Co., Ltd. Backed by the talent of Aimi Tanaka (田中あいみ) as her voice actress, Una's name is a mixture of 'city music' and the Unagi eel she also has as a hat, coming out as two separate voicebanks named 'Sugar' and 'Spicy' in reference of an English nursery rhyme stating how these two and 'Everything Nice' was what are little boys made of. Don't Be Down! was released on July 2020, totaling a little over 100k views on YouTube as of now.

Brand New Day irucaice feat. Hatsune Miku

We've had out fair share of Vocaloid-powered songs in Taiko gaming who managed to win song-making contest, so with this one request by shoxk we're not straying that much further away from such a trend!

The freshly-released-worldwide Project Sekai mobile rhythm game
has been very open to feedback of all sorts ever since its first operational year, while starring on the side a series of song-making contests for everyone to test their composing mettle for their original Vocaloid song to become playable! Under the name of 'PuroSeka NEXT', a song theme is chosen by the development team on each of these contests, awarding the track who suits it the best for the Vocaloid-centric VIRTUAL IDOL faction. The firstsecond of these contests has seen ast the winner this very song you can hear up these very lines by irucaice, being judged the most fitting song to the contest criteria of "A song that'll get people hyped". As a result, it became playable from February this year!

Den Paradigm (デンパラダイム) lumo feat. Hatsune Miku

Last in line for the day is Den Paradigm, a request from cowellfree whose song title is a punny mixture of Paradigm with the belonging 'denpa' music genre. You can tell it's quite the oldie Vocaloid hit, considering its sole official upload is on Nicovideo!

Composed by lumo and published online on April 4th, 2013, its rise to popularity is also due to a Sega-powered song contest, only not for having the song playable to begin with... but how would it look like. More specifically, a brainstorming contest was held in order to come up with an original video storyboard idea to be implemented for Den Paradigm's release in the Project DIVA series' arcade branch sequel, Future Tone. Ultimately, the song became playable from July 1st, 2014 with the storyboard idea displayed on the above-embeded video and it was ported later on brought back for future releases in the series: the arcade's console port Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone and the more recent Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix, as a piece of DLC.
