BUCHiGiRE Berserker REDALiCE vs MASAKI / Groove CoasterOn foreign music gaming grounds, it has become a time-honored tradition in the Groove Coaster series for in-house ZUNTATA musician Masaki Mori (森正樹) to step up his game and release a brand new boss song every time some big event like a tournament or a music game collaboration would happen, under the more-known all caps MASAKI monicker. When two hands are not enough, he's not shy with 'clashing' against all sorts of composers for one of many 'vs' collaboration pieces!
Third in line of this particular lineup is BUCHiGiRE Berserker, one of the tracks premiering for the 5th edition of the Tenkaichi Otogesai tournament series, a song whose title's lower-case 'i's double as a reference to the involved external artist of this collaboration: Yoshikazu 'REDALiCE' Nagai (永井良和). The 5th Tenkaichi website's song introduction page sheds some light on how the idea behind its album jacket came before making the actual song, according to MASAKI. That idea, concerning (and I quote) "an aggressive song with a manly odor" lead up to to a catchball-styled collaboration approach where distinct song bits by one of the two composers are playing against each other, one after another. BUCHiGiRE Berserker got an extended version for REDALiCE's 7th solo album OVERLOAD, released at this year's beginning. As you can see (and hear!), this long version has been uploaded online on the official YT account of REDALiCE's vewry own label of many a -core talent!
The multi-series tournament collaboration times between the Tenkaichi Otogesai shareholders are long gone, but that didn't stop this song from getting ported into Taito-uncharted territory time and again! The song was included in Marvelous's HARDCORE TANO*C-centric game WACCA and a bit later on Sega's CHUNITHM. Hell, it even made it into mobile grounds thanks to the 2nd collaborative grounds with lowiro's Arcaea!
