Twitter Snippets (April 30th, 2021) - Donder's Dogma on May Day

The upcoming iteration of the International Workers' Day will also see upper-tier Taiko players grin with glee, as the continuation to a piece from the ongoing AI Battle Performance-spawn unlock set is going to be available to everyone from tomorrow.

Considering the one post-Xmas surprise revamping the first part got in 2020, will this one follow suit on a later date or perhaps... from the very beginning?

One day after its debut (whoops...), but here it is! The latest song in Bandai Namco's idol-raising series in Taiko gaming features a vocalist for each of its main branches, with its Taiko-playable state resulting in a pute 1/16 chart like the Taiko Gen2 days of yore.

While this song is kept custom dancers-less like all other Idolmaster songs since Nijiiro Version's launch, it's worth mentioning how the collaboration-related grounds has revived the custom dancer sets for nearly every other track in the series with Nando Demo Waraou's inclusion! Exceptions (like this very track and Spread the Wings!!) are being accounted by eager arcade goers, but for the most part everyone's back for the Gen4 Idolmaster fanfare!

Song of the Week! 24 April 2021

Together with the Taiko Team, we're going back in time over the course of the following months, by spotlighting the Taiko de Time Travel Weekend Warriors as they're getting introduced.

In the event we're greeted with song series-belonging picks, these will be covered in the respective Showcase corner with something else for our Saturday piece, but for the time being let's just chill out under the notes of...

Namco Taiko Blog (April 23rd, 2021) - Taiko de Time Travel pt.2: 10's Future Bass

April is coming to an end once more, with one last Weekend Warrior right before that. It's not one like many others either- we're finally going across the second of the Taiko de Time Travel original song project that was announced during the 20th Anniversary livestream!

Thus, together with the usual Twitter reveal bearing its YouTube preview available above these very lines, we also have a companion blog entry to talk about the newcoming song in greater detail, a trend that is intended by the Taiko Team to continue for all the upcoming Taiko de Time Travel tracks as well. See you after the jump for that!

[ACNA] Keeping Up with the Virtual Artists: Nijiiro Asia April 2021 Update

Following the April 21 update to Nijiiro ver. cabinets in Japan, their counterparts in greater Asia will also get an equivalent update one day later (2021/04/22). The updates get the two tie-in tracks with somunia and friends, as well as likely some background assets for the upcoming Idolm@ster Series 15th Anniversary Collab.

Despite the Asia-wide rollout of the 4th-generation firmware brought the functional aspects up to par, it doesn't change that licensing and other issues stops the Asia ver. from getting all Pops- and Anime-genre licensed picks immediately.  Usseewa, Neko and Kaikai Kitan failed to make it this time.

Twitter Snippets (April 21st, 2021) - iDOLiSH7 x Taiko no Tatsujin Collaboration Teaser

The idol-collaboration-oriented news for the day are not over just yet, as yet another returning Taiko tie-in aficionado franchise is coming back later in the year, this time around with early advertisements running on Twitter.

Expect to hear more about the latest foray into the iDOLiSH7 series in the future, through a future third Taiko no Tatsujin collaboration event!

Namco Taiko Blog (2021/04/21): Celebrate Idol Production Around the World! The Idolm@ster Series 15th Anniversary Collab

As teased last week on the official Taiko no Tatsujin blog, Taiko no Tatsujin March 2020/Nijiiro ver. will join the ongoing celebration of the 15th anniversary of The Idolm@ster series with a collaboration event.

Being the first event after the international rollout of the 4th-generation arcade, Donders outside of Japan must have been on the edge of their seat for how the event with pan for them. Good(?) news: better late than never!

Event Period: (Japan) 2021/04/28~06/07; (worldwide) 2021/05/11~06/07

First Video: Nijiiro Version v13.15 New Songs

The latest update is up, and so is this newly-introcuded song trio! Ado's Taiko no Tatsujin debut plays under multiple tempo signatures andrelentless back-to-back cluster plays, while the car-antitheft-SFX-powered Variety addition plays it in the longer run with plenty more notes to boot for its pure 1/16 challenge.

On the rating spectrum, the last new treat manages to both lag behind and stay ahead of the former couple thanks to its two Oni notecharts to boot, with the regular one mostly starring mono-color drumming antics and its Ura counterpart getting more heavy-handed with Kat note placement in both handswitch-focused cluster sections and recurring 1/24 quads.
