Taiko DS3 secrets!

Get the most out of Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Dororon! Youkai Dai Kessen! There's a bunch of hidden content Namco wants you to unlock, when the time is right. However, you know the internet types. They hack to any and all in-game content first hand, so everything is let loose before Namco can say a word. And I've put it all here.

The hidden content consists of one new song, two drum sounds and a bunch of costumes. The song can be unlocked through a sound password, or if that doesn't work for you, input the text password instead. In Taiko DS3, go to the Options screen on the Main Menu, then hit the last option, Angou (あんごう, which means 'password' in Japanese)

This will take you to the second screen, shown above. That's the password menu. The first one is the sound password, and the second, the text password.

For the sound password, after your DS mic is ready, play this video close to it and let your DS record the sound. Try a few more times if it doesn't work! If the sound password is successful, you'll get a new sound, the 'Small Taiko', and the 51st song, Papa Mama Mac.

Note that this is not the official toy needed to generate the sound for the unlock, that's the job of the eight McDonalds Don-chan toys given out after August 14 2010, so it might take more than a few tries before this makeshift sound will work.
