Song of the Week! 13 March 2021

A little over a month later, here we are again- penning the lapse and bounds of a Taiko-spread song that's going to leave the series for good, across all current official releases. Do you remember which one is it, this time?

...Crikey, the PreCure series in Taiko gaming just can't catch a break, can it?! Starting back in 2017 and with one more encore last year, with a 3th permanent removal coming up this month it's officially become the one series to feature the most never-playable-again picks among licensed tune tropes thus far!

What we have here is the opening theme to Star Twinkle Pretty Cure (Japanese: スター☆トゥインクルプリキュア), the 16th animated series of the franchise as well as the only one thus far getting released between the end of a Japanese a and the beginning of another one. Airing from February 2019 to January 2020 with One Piece Movie: Gold director Hiroaki Miyamoto (宮元宏彰) as its director, the series stars (no pun intended) the young Hikaru Hoshina, a girl whose vivid imagination is the key factor behind being tasked of leading a new magical heroine squad as Cure Star in order to counter th lateste impending menace of darkness swallowing the universe. This time around, it's caused by the Notraiders army's attack on the Starry-Sky World that houses the order-keeping Star Princesses, turning them into 12 Zodiac-inspired magical pens and scattering them aroundin different planets; thus it's up to Cure Star's magical girls unit to find and revive all princesses to ward off the menace.

Like many of the PreCure series before it, a two-tankobon manga serialization was made alongside the Anime's 49-episodes run, with the solo chapters being released across 2019; the Star Twinkle PreCure cast also warranted two major appearances on the silver screen, once with the March 2019 crossover movie PreCure Miracle Universe (映画プリキュアミラクルユニバース) and once more with the solo-series-centric movie Star☆Twinkle Precure the Movie: These Feelings Within The Song of Stars (映画スター☆トゥインクルプリキュア 星の歌に想いをこめて) which was released on October 19 of the same year.

The soon-Taiko-vanishing Kirari Star Twinkler PreCureis composed/lyricized by Noriko Fujimoto (藤本記子) and arranged by Masayuki Fukutomi (福富雅之), with the recurring series artist Rie Kitagawa (北川 理恵) performing as its vocalist. The exact same drumroll placement for its KFM notechart set is juxtapposed by yet another 5* Oni with sparce 1/16 charting and monocolor clusters, for a song that 'twinkles' Go-Go Time the most on its running playtime regardless of the mode you're going to pick up!
