Namco may not be directly advertising the game with constant teasers like in the past, but new stuff is still being revealed for Taiko Wii U day by day! Today there's an update on the official game website and a Nicovideo livestream of the gameplay.
Let's get started with the more obscure stuff first, shall we? Tetsutaro, one of our followers, has spotted a particular Nicovideo live broadcast of the online show Denjin Getcha! (電人☆ゲッチャ!), where Taiko Wii U was played live for about half an hour. Some early game unlockables were revealed too!
After a few plays, Namco Original song Phoenix was unlocked, together with Yuujou Pop and Radetzky March. Another song and a game modifier (possibly the Doron modifier, since it was 10 Futsuu charts played) were unlocked during the play session, but the images were blocked to prevent spoilers. We apologize in advance for the lack of photo evidence for this unlock, as a poor frame-rate prevented the snapping of clear shots.
The Wii U website was also updated earlier in the day., featuring other aspects of the upcoming game. One of these is a further implementation of Wii U's Miiverse function!
After fulfilling certain conditions, special titles can be acquired to use in Taiko Wii U's Miiverse community as your label when posting a message. Besides sending pictures of your outfits, you can also see comments of other people on each song and difficulty if your Wii U is connected online! Send your own too to show how you feel about each song!
Speaking of other online features, the DLC section was updated. All the six DLC songs that we know of are in the opening batch, and all of them are free of charge! Guess Namco wasn't lying in its TV advert about free songs (there may be paid songs, but not at this point in time). Plus, the song Walking Through The Towers from Puzzle & Dragons will feature both the arcade's dancer set and the Tyrra outfit for Don-Chan.
The Tyrra outfit is not the only outfit part which can be downloaded, as other four clothing pieces are being added as Day 1 DLC for the game! Each of these can be purchased for 50 Yen.
Last but not least, both the past Taiko Wii U ads and the game's full initial tracklist have been published in the website, with the addition of the last default Game Music track for the game: Namcot Medley.
Thanks again to tetsutaro for the heads-up!
