Namco Taiko Blog (August 1 2016): End of Another Era: Wii U3 Final DLC and Pricing Changes


Sadly yes, we are there again at another console Taiko no Tatsujin game's end of lifetime, measured in terms of DLC addition. Also common to the Wii U series of games, the once free DLC songs will be converted to paid content after approximately a year.

But hey, enjoy this last free batch of songs (no outfits this month) and let future you deal with having to pay for more songs.

Namco Taiko Blog 2 (7 July 2016) - Red Version Launch Details, Part 2


Right after the Taiko Team delivered the very last White Version-related details, another blog entry makes us aware about some of Red Version's other new features.

Believe it or not, it's not a news rehash like last time!

Namco Taiko Blog (7 July 2016) - The Road to Red Version


The last time we ever see a modern arcade's banner for a Taiko Blog entry report is for the usual list of content that will and won't be carried over to its successor, and White Version's no exception.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the involved parameters are always the same ones of the last few transitions, making us comfortable enough to just copy/paste the same three points from the past while adapting them to the current context:
  • All takeover data from the Banapassport accounts are referring to all the data recorded up until White Version's last official operating day (Jul 13th);
  • All the data concerning the Taiko Avatar (appearance), played songs (crowns, performance details for each not-removed songs) and rewards (unlockables, shopping points) will be carried over, as well as most of the Donder Plaza's user profiles and related settings;
  • Everything about the removed songs (and the related crowns), Don Points, Donder Plaza's Challenge/My News History log and White Version's Dojo Ranking mode (Kigurumi outfit, ranking history, removed songs as favourite tracks) won't be carried over.

Namco Taiko Blog (12 May 2016) - May '16 Livestream, the Details

As promised, today we're getting the clearer picture of the next Taiko Team livestream's schedule. Right after the Test Portion and the actual livestream's beginning, here's the list of topics that will be touched in the broadcast, in order of appearance:

  • Taiko 3DS 3 News Corner - Hear something new for the next console title from the Team, for the first time outside of websites/magazines!
  • Tokkun Mode Corner - Have another glimpse of the arcade games' new incoming mode, including actually using a build of it! All suggestions for new features/tweaks are welcome.
  • Taiko World Championships 2016 Finals - Feast your eyes on how the latest arcade tourney concludes with news about the two Donder Hiroba online tournament brackets and the finals on June 26 (elementary-and-under) and July 17 (middle-school-and-up). If we are lucky (or the Team is feeling like playing the hype game), perhaps a glimpse of whatever aftermath that shakes the scenario? (which is obviously  Red Version, of course)
  • White Version News Corner -  Round up the broadcast with some up-to-date news about the latest arcade housing! (but seriously go play Red Version coming to an arcade near you)

... (not-so-much) Subliminal messages from our news report aside, we also come to know that this livestream won't have a comments challenge, unlike many in recent memory. Keep an eye on the Team's Twitter for the broadcast's Nicovideo link!
