Namco Taiko Blog (February 1st, 2023) - Real Ranking Dojo and Banapassport Family Group Clarifications

This February-opener Taiko Blog entry mainly is for greater details on the upcoming Real Ranking Dojo event for attenders of the JAEPO 2023 venue (which was already talked about beforehand).

Up here, you can see the certificates that elegible players will be able to win... They're all B5-format sized and there's even a Gold clear variation for each!

As previously addressed, there will be two rounds for the numbered tickets distribution for the event (JP times included): one at 10am -an hour before the JAEPO Taiko booth's opening- and another at 1pm. Additional notes have been supplied today in order to clear out any misunderstandings or concerns about the application for the event:
  • The RRD available trials (1st-5th-10th Dans) are the exact same ones that are currently available on Nijiiro Version arcades' Ranking Dojo mode;
  • Official MyBachi models at the booth are available, but as supplies are limited it is encouraged to bring your own personal MyBachis, if already owned;
  • If you try the RRD and fail, you might be able to try again as long as there are any other numbered tickets left for the event (brief reminder that people that have already passed their RRD trial can not try again afterwards, regardless of numbered tickets left);
  • As long as one person's identity can be unequivocally confirmed, it's ok to use a smartphone belonging to another person related to the player (ie. parents/legal tutors in case of minors).
This last point ties in with the day's other main topic of the Banapassport/Bandai Namco ID Family Group function that is going to be implemented, one we have also spotted on Twitter last week and that will restrict underage players' Bandai Namco Portal/Donder Hiroba website functionalities until their BanNam ID card has joined a Parental Group and met with the parents' consent on the service. Further details for what concerns the service as a whole will be published tomorrow on the official Bandai Namco ID website, but here are the most Taiko-relevant points to bring home:
  • Regardless of the Family Group services, Banapassports/BanNamIDs can be used as usual with the compatible arcade games;
  • If the age registered is above the regional set threshold for a child account (under-16 is for child Japanese accounts, check the website for other areas) or is aged beyond it, adult verification is not needed in order to enjoy the online Banapassport/BanNam ID services listed above;
  • In order to register a Parent Account that can grant access to a Children Account's Family Group, an eligible credit card must be used for its creation;
  • Other identity verification methods may be submitted for Parent Accounts, such as ID cards and facial recognition;
  • Money from the credit card used for Parent Account verifications is never billed, even when using as an altrernate ID means to play arcade Taiko cabinets.
