???Every once in a while, the Taiko franchise latches onto the all-in-the-rage 'digital idol' landscape without relying on either Vocaloid voice banks or the letsplay-steaming characters donning Live2D avatars while in the motion... while also picking figures with arguable links to both tropes! For another of such example, meet the nicknamed Somunia (Twitter), in activity on YouTube since late 2018 with her own songs, a fictional digital persona and the backing of many a nicknamed guest artist.
This vocalist moved her firsts steps in the digital world with a dedicated YouTube channel (link), starting out with original covers of Vocaloid songs (mainly Hatsune Miku's) as an ongoing trend and eventually branching out with original pieces. On the latter camp falls Connected World as her 2nd single release on her channel on April 6th, 2019, starring composer gaburyu (Twitter; official website). As revealed in the official blog entry housing quick impressions of Somunia and associated artists on the song's inclusion, it turns out we can check off the least another composer to be surprised of having former tracks of his own being playable on a series he's been enjoying since he was a kid! Connected World's launch happened with another of Somunia's most popular sensations, but seeing as our mionthly Ura Oni quota was already met, that's a tale to be told another time...
As straightforward as mid-8s go, here we got a chart playing more on the stanza-repetition side of things with mostly 1/16 charting and the occasional 1/24 quick Kat cluster. Nothing else to be said, if not to bear enough power to play this musical sheet in motion!
