mkftmd (Mirai Komachi Future Melody)The just-launched Irodoru♡Future closes a tradition of console-first debuts for the Vocaloid tunes performed by the BanNam-proprietary voice bank of Mirai Komachi, with the present song at hand being the last Nintendo Switch version debut after Mirai and future beat. It's also the first Taiko-playable tune of hers not being made by inhouse BNSI musicians!
Indeed, this Future Melody that goes "From the Heart to the Future" (as stated by its JP subtitle) has been crafted by a couple of people from Shinji 'Sampling Masters MEGA' Hosoe's SuperSweep Records label: Takahiro Eguchi (江口孝宏) as the composer/arranger and Fumihisa Tanaka (田中文久) as its lyricist. Both artists bolster a generous contribution serving into the Touhou Project music arrangement doujin pool, with Eguchi also supplying some of the earliest songs for developer Nurijoy's SUPERBEAT XONiC, including its opening theme Stargazer and The Lemon Squash. The most recent contribution to rhythm gaming for both artists, however, lies in the Arcaea song Beside You, for which a long version was also created and included in one of the game's official soundtrack albums.
Curiously enough, Future Melody is the sole Taiko-playable official Mirai Komachi track to date that doesn't have its own dedicated video in the official YouTube channel, which only holds a preview clip made for the song's announcement in the Vocaloid's 2nd Anniversary; the song, however, appears integrally at the end of Mirai Komachi's 3rd Anniversary concert video that is also featured on the same channel (link). The "original trilogy" of Switch-debuting Mirai Komachi songs are all featured in the ASOBINOTES-published album release FUTURE NOTES 01 ~Mirai~ of August 7th, 2020, holding both regular and instrumental versions of each.
Bumping down to 8* for its Oni from future tone's 9-star challenge, what we have here is an old-school 1/16 chart heavilly leaning on 4-stanza pattern repetition, the perfect way for song-first-timers to metabolize the song's rhythms in drumming form at a very intuitive pace.
