Arcade Taiko Green Version - Launch Window Update Post

The 11th Taiko arcade firware board is finally upon us! Starting from the new songs whose coming was already announced in advance (Taiko Team blog recap here), we're going to cover what the rest of the week has in store for this new version's launch period.

Last update: 15/03/2019
Oni/Ura Oni video footage: 9/9
No. of Updates: 4 (FINAL)

Song
Ratings / Max Combo (Hardest mode)
Additional Notes
1/2/3/6
(288)
Korean girl unit TWICE's second single release. A pure 1/16 notechart with mono-color clusters as far as the eyes can see... at least, until the very end.
1/2/3/4
(184)
The 35th single from pop singer MISIA, made in collaboration with a member from the GReeeeN unit. The easiest Green Version Oni chart also happens to be a slow-scrolling ballad. How unexpected!
3/4/5/7
(453)
The opening theme of the Cells at Work Anime series, of which we briefly talked about in one of our latest SotW features (link). A faster take on Candy Pop's Oni mode approach, where the average note density is definitely a more relevant factor.
3/4/5/6
(464)
The second flower song into Taiko gaming, from the same composer of Charles from Yellow Version. A speedy, straight-forward chart that follows the lead beats and vocals with single notes and 3-note clusters.
8* Ura Oni
(591)
A slight difficulty bump for an Ura Oni challenge whose main traits are a backbeat-based early charting and a busier cluster sequence for the chorus.
2/4/5/6
(345)
Character leitmotif for Ouka Tadaomi from #C.O.M.P.A.S.S. by producer 164 using the GUMI Vocaloid bank, as the latest tie-in song with the game. A slower approach to backbeats among Green Version newcomers.
9* Ura Oni
(532)
1/24 clusters and the chorus's scrolling speed bump are sure to put some tension for the first plays! Considering the small number of notes, however, this easily falls on the easier 9* Ura Oni side.
3/4/6/8
(531)
One of the two newcoming Namco Original tunes from Green Version's first seasonal Rewards Shop catalog. A new swing-oriented chart in the original department, with one note less for it's Oni than Zankyou's Ura chart! Difficulty-wise, think of Egao ni Kampai/modern Off Rock, only with some slight tempo changes at the beginning
4/6/7/10
(903)
The other Spring Rewards Shop-debuting track for Green Version, starring talents of SOUND VOLTEX fame as well as the iconic lead singer from Cirno's Perfect Math Class. Green Version's launch day difficulty peak plays it more on the player's stamina-draining side with a barrage of clusters and some nasty mono-color 1/24 spikes to take the toll on random errors along the way.

UPDATE 4 - The latest round of Tenkaichi Otogesai songs (GERBERA, Xevel, ouroboros -twin stroke of the end- and Senten no Reimei) are now available to all the non-JAIA arcades, retroactively including the still-operative Blue Version public arcades as well.

With this bit of news and nothing else of relevance to note, we can consider this update post officially closed, with us removing the pin this coming Monday. In the meantime, enjoy the latest Song of the Week article, as well as our post-launch update to our past double-feature with Mission! Ken-kou-dai-ichi (link)!

ERRATA - Turns out that the latest Tenkaichi Otogesai round of songs in Taiko were actually released earlier to the public, as early as January 27th!... but we missed the notice, and for that we do apologise. Updating the affected pages soon!

UPDATE 3 - Like other Idolm@ster songs that started off as a tie-up with the anime, GLORIOUS RO@D and Reason!! has been moved to the Game Music genre.

UPDATE 2 - Oni videos for all the newcomer songs are now available!

UPDATE 1 - Full star ratings for all launch songs have been supplied, together with the Oni videos for the J-POP and Anime genres. The song description for Zankyou has also been fixed.
