Twitter Snippets (1 April 2019) - A Two-ways-around Taiko April Fools

New Song: April 1st, 2019

Nesin Amaitas★5★6★6★7

By this point, we got used to the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise not to get too wacky on April Fools shenanigans as of late, by either rehashing old joke songs or making minimal alteration to pre-existing songs to have a quick laugh. For this year, the arcade branch definitely stands on the latter end of the stick, with one oh-so-popular song from the franchise getting completely reversed as a result, note patterns included. Which song is it, you might ask? Just reverse its title from the grid above and you'll have your answer, I say!

Twitter Snippets (30 March 2019) - End-March's NAMCO SOUNDS Graduations

Before we dive balls deep into the yearly April Fools shenanigans, here are a couple of regrettable pieces of news that affect Bandai Namco's in-house musician roster, with two more composers with some shared Taiko no Tatsujin-related history leaving the company.

The people in question, from top-to-bottom graduation tweets of reference, are Kanako "P." Kakino (柿埜嘉奈子) and Hiroshi Okubo (大久保博). The former has had a deep history in the musical department for Idolm@ster and Klonoa games, with some songs from both series (STEPPING WIND and DRIVE A LIVE) getting Taiko ports at some point; the latter artist, on the other hand, is remembered in Taiko more for its racing and idol-related game side as opposed to platformers, between Pacman-related arranges (L.O.V.E and EAT'EM UP!), Ridge Racer-related tracks (the USA Remix of Ridge Racer and... uuuh... EAT'EM UP! again) and other Idolm@ster pieces.

Over night, the mobile-friendly Taiko Plus apps have received quite the bulky update, introducing new in-menu visuals and a good chunk of songs for both versions! Now the game is fully supported by iPhone X models and 1080p visual resolution has been adopted as the new game engine standard.

On the songlist side, two tracks join the default song roster for both platforms, the Android version catches up with the Puzzle & Dragons craze on its GTH subscription mode and iOS users get a bunch of formerly-limited-free-unlocks on the same mode.

First Video: 241 Deep Learning and Green Ver. V1.04 New Songs

The latest Hisui song with dual-vocalists action flows at quite the docile speed with a mainly 1/16 notechart blend, making room for a 9* Oni that leans more on the technical side of chart-performing. If you're up for a duet challenge, this song's Ura Oni has custom charts for a duet performance, being playable also singularly as 1P or 2P a-la Souryuu no Ran.

After the jump lie the videos for today's newcomers on the arcade side!
