We divert our gaze from the freshly-revealed Taiko title for one day in order to digress on the whereabouts of Nijiiro Version's next content update, one of the topics in today's blog entry that is coming out next week, on January 26th.

As a Winter warmup into the next season, one song per month from the 6-unit male idol band Strawberry Prince will become playable in Japanese Taiko arcades, courtesy of the Taiyoukei Disco Vocaloid producer. General Asia arcade is bound to get these too at some point, but for now these are only scheduled for a release in the franchise's home country.
Random Select Option for Song Folders
What's coming to Nijiiro arcades worldwide, however, is one nifty function to let Banapassport players pick a song at random from any of the available folders (song genres/promo/Hiroba/sidemodes), a feature that might aid newcomers in getting acquainted with the song catalogue when we're nearing the 4-digit limit! Simply select the 'Randomly Select' option on top of any folder to have your random pick!
This feature, however, can't be abused just like its counterpart on console games: once it's used anywhere, you need to play through one song (even different from the random choice) in order to use the function again for the next song in the credit.
Taiko no Tatsujin Official Livestream - February 2022
Last but not least is the announcement for a new YouTube livestream starring Etou and Kimizu, currently scheduled to air on February 20th, 6-7:30 pm (JST, as usual). With the just-started Nijiiro Version Gaiden online tournament ending the day before it, the stream will put "live crowning of the winners" the top of the to-do list. To drum up hype for the livestream, the interim rankings for the tournament on the Donder Hiroba will be hidden from public view for the final three days (17th through 19th).
Just like the last time, the hosts will welcome another round of arcade-focused Taiko no Tatsujin questions for the fans. If you have any Nijiiro-shaped trivia you need your fill in, head over here and pitch in your question!
