Namco Taiko Blog (January 14th, 2022) - Taiko de Time Travel pt.11 - Super Future

The future is now, with 2022's coming... alongside the one of something that's allegedly originating from well beyond this year! It's also the first time one particular composer is about to leave its Taiko mark in franchise history...

It's been almost over a year where the coming of Masaya 'Camellia' Oya (大箭将也) was foretold for this Original song project... time sure flies, doesn't it? For such a prestigious occasion, the eccentric composer has allegedly made a big leap forward in time to the fabled year 2765, in order to sip what musical trends will be hip and to port them back here for contemporary ears to listen to! The result is some out-of-time breakcore piece with BPM 276.5 being commonplace; molded with the objective to make everyone experience what music is ought to be from a future year when everyone reading these very lines would be dead for a long time, to see how far the boundaries of music are (=will) be pushed onward. There's also a "time slip zone" snuck in there and apparently Taiko no Tatsujin is still going to be a popular brand by then, but the composer prefers to refrain from revealing more- time paradoxes are just one-spoiler-to-the-past-too-many away...

Futurenaut jokes aside (with the accompaning 'future slangs' being posted in the original blog entry, mind you!), Camellia reveals to have been really grateful for the opportunity offered as part of one of the big anniversary milestone feats, withstanding the big pressure of being such a researched name in music gaming and waiting quite a while from the actual musical Taiko debut. Twenty years ago, he was a 10-aged elementary student after all, cherishing some Taiko-flavored memories by playing the game with his younger brother, or just air swinging drumsticks with school friend. More to the point of how he's both glad to the Taiko Team opening a seat for his talent to branch... as well as being apologetic for partially stealing the whole Taiko Travel theming shtick for himself, considering he put bit-sized renditions of all the time periods featured for this series thus far... as a really minute part for his own song!

Also greeting the Taiko Team blog reader with an energetic 'Wanwa!' from the super future is Marimo Institute (まりも研究所), the seasoned Taiko Team charter behind this very song's Taiko modes. Being a track crafted by music that's yet to come, the same logic has also been applied by the charter: inhuman ultra-future charting that has been adapted to the present times' common sense in something more tangible to contemporary human beings. That is, until you decide to venture further beyond an Oni's limits... With hopes for a series whose intuitive drumming staple can be enjoyed from the primordial times down to the eras' end, Marimo Institute hopes the most daring people are willing to give The Future of a Taiko Drum a spin under the arcade's AI Battle Performance mode; after all, both AI-Don and Makina-chan come from the same 'year 2765' this song is also birthed by!

If you manage to turn back father Time's clock to 2022 next month, the Taiko de Time Travel project will meet its final song, meant to represent the year that has just begun. We've got BNSI musician steμ and a mystery 4-letters artist delivering the final step of this journey... but what is it going to be?
