Namco Taiko Blog (7 January 2014) - Taiko no Tatsujin Momoiro Version 2.05

The Taiko Team ends the winter holiday break with an early blog entry about Momoiro Version's first content software update, featuring new songs for (almost) every genre and much more!

Starting from the new tracks, Game Version 2.05 will introduce eight new songs. Besides the typical licensed song updates, several of these are from collaborations and contests.

Starting from the new licenses, J-Pop gets AKB48's Koisuru Fortune Cookie (恋するフォーチュンクッキー), which will probably be a cover version of the original song as no subtitles are found this time. On the other hand, the Anime genre gets JUST LIVE MORE from Kamen Rider Gaim, Geragerabo no Uta (ゲラゲラポーのうた) from the incoming Level-5 Anime series Yokai Watch (based on the 3DS game of the same name) and V (Volt) (V (ボルト)) from the Pokemon X/Y Anime series.

While we are on the subject, the Yokai Watch song is a collab with Taiko, as the show which features it will begin to air tomorrow! The song will feature some of the Yokai Watch franchise's characters as custom dancers.

Like Tamagotchi and Aikatsu! before it, a costume for a character from the anime will be made available after playing this song once. This time it's Jibanyan (ジバニャン), the red cat ghost in the center.

Continuing with the new songs, the last four tunes are some returning names we have already heard about: Vocaloid genre gets GingahoumenP's winning song from the ZOLA PROJECT 2013 contest Eccentric w (エキセントリックw), Variety gets the two last limited tunes from the Touhou Arrange Project (Night of Knights and Bad Apple!! feat. nomico) and Game Music gains the Monster Hunter 4 Medley (モンスターハンター4 メドレー) in exchange for the older Tri G medley.

Plus, Game Version 2.05 will finally implement the new title-making system! As such, the Taiko Team shared with us some details about how the system will work.

Basically, the new title system will feature two parts (A and B) which can be mixed in order to compose the title. The "A" group includes the nouns (like 'Taiko', 'Eringi', ...), while the "B" group has connectives and symbols (such as 'and', 'from', '&', '★', ...).

Titles are made of three parts which follow the scheme A-B-A, meaning that two group 'A' words and a connective part/symbol can be chosen for the title. Any part can be left blank and the slots for the A-type words can be filled with the same word, making room for even more title combinations (Jubeat, anyone?).

While all the title parts from the 'B' group are all available from the beginning, the parts from the 'A' group have to be either unlocked through the monthly Don Challenge trials or purchased using a new feature of the DonChare shop called Title Parts Gacha (称号パーツガシャ), which awards a random-chosen title for 200 Shopping Points.

Along with the introduction of the Title Parts Gacha, the Donder Hiroba's reward shop will be upgraded too, allowing players to store an unlimited amount of Shopping Points, topping the previous limit of 30,000. Additionally, more items and songs will be made available to purchase!

Taiko 13 favorites Kimi no Akari and Yumeiro Coaster will be finally available as reward shop items, followed by 4 new costume parts, 2 for the head (Student Cap (学生帽) and Side Tail (サイドテール) ) and 2 for the face (Eye-Patch (眼帯) and Panda Face (パンダ顔) )

This blog entry ends with good news for those who have played the Sorairo Version's Dojo Ranking mode: a new Group 'A' title part will be awarded to all Banapassport players who tried this mode, according to the hardest trial cleared at the mode's discontinuation.
Game Version 2.05 will be live next week, on January 15th. Until then, see you this Friday with another blog post!
