Namco Taiko Blog (20 October 2015) - Murasaki Version's Smooth Mini-Update

In today's surprise blog entry, Etou announces a small update (V 8.07) for Murasaki Version, slated to an October 29th release. What's inside this time around, you say?

For starters, Murasaki arcades will receive a new song for the Anime genre: Sore wa Bokutachi no Kiseki (それは僕たちの奇跡) from Love Live. Together with said new track, the Smooth Tournament mode (which was already being discussed at this month's beginning) is finally going to be fully operative! Once a Banapassport-only tournament will be up, a screen similar to the one below will signal the activation of the tourney-friendly custom settings to the players.

When the Smooth Tournament mode is on, there will be a set of features that are automatically toggled on (such as the song selection time limit removal/ quicker result screen transitions) and options that are left to either the player or the arcade operators to turn on or off, such as forcing the use of certain modifiers and/or the Shin'Uchi scoring rule.

Thanking once again for all the fan feedback received, the Taiko Team is also working on a way to differentiate a 2-player match by using sound effects or other visual flairs to track which player is in points advantage while playing a song. This feature, however, is still a work-in-progress, so it won't probably make it before the next big arcade firmware's release.
