Twitter Snippets (April 23rd, 2020) - A New Family of Taiko-Themed Surveys

One month has gone since the latest post for the Taiko no Tatsujin official blog, yet the wait for the next entry still rages on... On its place, today we got the announcment of a new line of  public polls, pertaining new song brainstorming for the newly-launched arcade firmware generation. Starting from today and fruible through the link provided in the above-embeded tweet, everyone can join a short poll in order to let the Taiko Team go which songs who are elegible to enter in the Pops genre (ie. J-Pop tracks and other popular/public-domain pieces pertainable to other genres) would they like to see ported into Nijiiro Version next, in the same fashion as of last year's Touhou Project-oriented poll.

Like for the previous anonymous poll, some other questions will be asked before submitting the song suggestion, both related to the individual (gender/age range/occupation/Japanese prefecture of residence) as well as some minor details about Taiko gaming habits (how often do you play the series' games/which difficulty setting is the more often played). Drawing another parallel with the past Touhou poll, this poll will run for one week (ending on April 29th) and its results won't be publicly disclosed.

According to the poll's very first page, there are plans to hold similar polls in the future for the other song genres as well, with the very next entries to be subject of poll scrutiny being the Anime and Vocaloid genre in that order, with no other detail penned for each as of yet.

List of Titles in Taiko no Tatsujin (Mar. 2020 modkit)

The title stem was introduced by a firmware update in Taiko 0, and gives players with access to Banapassports nicknames to put beside their usernames while they play, as a mark of their in-game achievements, much like in other rhythm games with user profiles. The titles can be interchanged in Donder Hiroba when you have obtained them, and the one currently selected will display on the arcade screen wherever the player name is. Some titles unlock hidden content like songs and costumes.

It is possible to get more than one title in a go by overlapping the conditions for unlocking them. In addition, for newer players, Don Points (DP) will also be given out for titles they get (until Red Version).

Almost all the titles from the Blue Version are available on Green ver. as well, with the addition of new title unlocks. Once again, titles are not ordered under a numerical order.

Titles are listed below, translated into English wherever possible.

List of Title Parts in Taiko no Tatsujin (Mar. 2020 modkit)

From Momoiro Version 2.04 onwards, arcade Banapassport players are able to set titles for their personal nickname either with one of the titles previously unlocked by doing specific tasks or by creating a new one by scratch by using specific title parts.

These title parts are basically divided into two different groups: nouns and phrases ('Group A') and symbols or connectives ('Group B'). Players can use up to 2 words from Group A and a symbol/connective from Group B to construct a custom title, following the scheme A-B-A. Any spot of said scheme can be left blank and the slots for Group A words can be filled with the same word.

With the coming of Nijiiro Version, additional title parts are no longer able to be unlocked as of the firmware's lauch, limiting new players to the default selection. Listed here are all available title parts to select, eventually updated with future unlock methods for title parts if applicable.

Song of the Week! 18 April 2020

If you've not been up to date with this week's news, it's imperative on my part to remind our reading audience about the nearing closure of the CreoFUGA.net website, one that is sure to drag behind all the music and artist comments of all the music pieces that have been shared along the years. The 'on my part' bit, of course, concerns the Taiko side of the deal, as with that are also going away quite the share of trivia about the few CF-spawn songs that are going to disappear, come June's end.

Before all of this walks the way of the old Taiko Team blog website, the double feature you're going to see in the coming weeks are all the constest-inspired ones, so that we can salvage those bits of trivia on the Internet in some shape or form. Starting off today is a couple of songs from the same composer!
