[PSA] - Get Your Taiko DLCs Before The eShops' Closure

One bit of news that has made the rounds of gaming in the past month was the upcoming closure of the Nintendo eShop platforms for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems worldwide, meaning that no further additional purchases of any kind will be allowed after this coming March 27th.

For the time being, it will still be possible to use the platform afterwards to both update digital/packaged games in your possession and re-download eShop content (games/DLCs) that were already purchased before the store fronts' ending. This means that we're at the final raw call for Japanese-systems-owning donders to catch whatever piece of (the still available) DLCs they're missing for the trilogy of Japanese Taiko games on both systems.

As a post-script addendum, we remind you that the digital versions of both 3DS and Wii U games were already removed from the storefront beforehand, and that its former purchasers can still be able to redownload if these were already bought when they were available, alongside all their respective single/bundled DLC deals.

Those who already purchased the game through digital means can still play already-downloaded copies, or re-download if the game was removed from the console.

Namco Taiko Blog (26 October 2016) - Autumn Discounts for Taiko Wii U Games

wiiu%e5%a4%aa%e9%bc%93_dl%e7%89%88%e5%80%a4%e4%b8%8b%e3%81%92%e3%82%ad%e3%83%a3%e3%83%b3%e3%83%9a%e3%83%bc%e3%83%b3%e3%83%90%e3%83%8a%e3%83%bcweb1

Continuing the trend from this summer's V Version digital sale, today's surprise blog entry is about yet another digital discount campaign, this time for Nintendo home console grounds (even seeing as it looks like the Wii U's successor is right behind the corner...).

From today until November 9th (9:59 AM, Japan time), it'll be possible to purchase the digital version of Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori at the discounted price of 3000 Yen (tax excluded), while the later-released Atsumete Tomodachi Daisakusen will have its price dropped to 4000 Yen in the period of time that goes from November 9th to 23th (same hour deadlines).

As an added bonus, every song DLC that is still available to obtain to this day as paid DLC will have their price cut to 100 Yen during both promo periods! This deal is also applied to the Senpuu no Mai's 2-song combo for the third Wii U title, thus it being treated as a single purchase.

Closing Up the Past: Changes of Downloadable Content for Wii U1 and Wii U2

We're coming ever closer to the release of Wii U3, and it is high time Taiko Team end the matters with the previously two installments, all of the changes to be carried out on November 19 2015.

The biggest news to drop is that the downloadable version of Wii U1 will be retreated from the Nintendo eShop. From the change onwards, if you want to catch any of the Wii U1 exclusive songs you will have to hunt down a packaged version, which will reasonably be getting rarer and rarer.

And as with the change happened to Wii U1 when Wii U2 came out, some of the Wii U2 DLC (and one from Wii U1) will either be converted to paid DLC or completely removed from further purchasing. The full translated list is given after the jump.

Namco Taiko Blog (September 17 2015) - The Last of (Wii) U2

Hello from Daifuku! ...well more like a pre-recorded message as herself would currently be at the big Tokyo Game Show 2015 expo, exhibiting Wii U3 at the Family Corner through the end of the week! (PS. Plus and im@s Must Songs will also be featured, but at the main show hall.)

But before starting off new stuff, let's close up the older stuff, a la the previous Wii U Taiko game. Here is the new and final batch of downloadable content for Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori for the month of September, released just today (Sept 17):

 気分上々↑↑ Kibun Joujou↑↑
 ジョジョ ~その血の運命~ 「ジョジョの奇妙な冒険THE ANIMATION」より
JoJo ~Sono Chi no Sadame~ from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure THE ANIMATION
 〆ドレー2000+ Shimedore 2000+

Once again, the songs are free of charge.

Namco Taiko Blog (July 20 2015): Across July and August, with Wii U2 DLC and AC0 news

Double Namco Taiko Blog ahoy! The first, morning-session post of the day is about July's Wii U2 DLC, which we already did our take here, and let's not dawdle on that until the next wave of DLC in September.

The second post comes after the noon mark about the obligatory August updates for Murasaki ver., because we are two days left until the new month. DonChare will net you the returning Taberuna 2000 (タベルナ2000), the second-to-last older 2000 series songs to make a return to the new HD arcades (points if you can name the last one in 5 seconds). In the outfit department, get the Festival Taiko (お祭り太鼓) by just playing, and the Flower Straw-hat (はながさ) from the Rewards Shop, only this month.

Finally, checking on the still-ongoing V Version Release Campaign: Get extra tickets during the concentration period of August 6~16. That means 2 tickets for each qualifying play (play songs that are in both Vita1 and AC0), and a whopping 3 tickets each if you go multiplayer with a friend! A very good chance to get back on track with past items, or to stock up for whatever that is yet to come. Check the special icon to know when the bonus is in effect:

Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori - New End-Month DLC Releasing Tomorrow!

As it's already past Midnight in Japan, Wii U players have been greeted with new downloadable content for the latest Taiko game, featuring new priced outfit parts and another trio of free songs!

Hold on your horses though, as we're mostly facing song revivals; much like June's lot, Tokumori's new three songs for this month are made of two returning songs already featured on console titles before (Zenryaku, Michi no Ue Yori for J-Pop and Desert de Yakiniku (Sahara-hen) for Namco Original) and a console debut for the Anime genre, which this time around it's Saa Yuke! Ninninger!, the latest of the Sentai songs in Taiko gaming.

We'll be updating our DLC-related pages soon, complete with the new outfit pieces as well.

Daifuku bringing you new for Taiko Wii U2! The April downloadable content, to be released on April 27, is significantly less glamorous than last month's (three completely new, one fan favourite plus one), with two Murasaki ver. debuts and no outfit items:

Miracle Go! プリンセスプリキュア Miracle Go! Princess PreCure
 ケラケラじゃんけん Kerakera Jyanken
Maybe there would be one more song? Daifuku decides to not say for sure.

Addendum, April 16 12:00:
Due to various issues and uncertainties, fixes and tweaks are needed for the April DLC information. As such, it has been decided to retract the announcement for now. The release date and song list will be announced again later when it is confirmed.

That's it from Daifuku for today. Remember Friday's livestream, and come back later for another blog post.

A Winter's Final Purple Days (10/03/15)

This year's first Taiko Team livestream session has been quite a wild ride, between the Taiko Team building up the release of the next major firmware update and us being busy live-tweeting the event with... well... mixed results (Just remember that it lasted for about 12 hours!).

Nevertheless, it has its chunk of good content to talk about on this visual-based blog entry, so let's get this ride started!

Namco Taiko Blog (12 March 2015) - Taiko Tokumori's March DLC

One of the surprises of the previous stream is today's blog entry! From March 19th, the extra content that has been revealed on the latest livestream will be avbailable, featuring 5 free songs and 7 new outfit parts. Soon after this post, our usual livestream feature will cover this content.

There's else to talk about for this entry, save for the fact that the next round of Wii U DLC content will pop up towards the end of April. Cheers!

Taiko Wii U 2 Unlock Guide

Currently work-in-progress page. Costumes, Taiko Sounds and Miiverse frames coming soon!

To view the stamp album, click here.

Unlockable features on Taiko no Tatsujin Tokumori such as outfits, modifiers and songs are all granted through one of the in-game gacha (capsule) machines under the Mekadon Gacha section, accessible through the main menu.

Each gacha can be used by paying a specific amount of Don Koban (ドン小判), which are awarded to the players by either clearing songs, fulfilling achievements for the Stamp Album or playing the Intro-Don mode. Game modifiers and Taiko sounds share the same gacha, as well as costumes and Miiverse frames; Miiverse Stamps and Songs/Uras have their separate gacha. All the pulls result in a random prize, but watch out, as some capsules may be empty!

Taiko Wii U 2 Stamp Album

The stamp achievement system from the previous Taiko Wii U videogame is also being implemented in the sequel, with another hundred of optional goals to reach. However, since all of the game's unlockable content is awarded through the Mekadon Gacha machines, the achievements in the Stamp Album now award variable amount of Don Kobal (ドン小判), the in-game currency being used to get each prize in said in-game gachas.
