[PSA] - Get Your Taiko DLCs Before The eShops' Closure

One bit of news that has made the rounds of gaming in the past month was the upcoming closure of the Nintendo eShop platforms for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems worldwide, meaning that no further additional purchases of any kind will be allowed after this coming March 27th.

For the time being, it will still be possible to use the platform afterwards to both update digital/packaged games in your possession and re-download eShop content (games/DLCs) that were already purchased before the store fronts' ending. This means that we're at the final raw call for Japanese-systems-owning donders to catch whatever piece of (the still available) DLCs they're missing for the trilogy of Japanese Taiko games on both systems.

As a post-script addendum, we remind you that the digital versions of both 3DS and Wii U games were already removed from the storefront beforehand, and that its former purchasers can still be able to redownload if these were already bought when they were available, alongside all their respective single/bundled DLC deals.

DLC Termination Bulletin: A Digital Farewell to 3DS and Wii U eShops

Digital Version Termination Notice for 3DS3

The main sites of 3DS1, 3DS3 and Wii U3 have just put up notices that the distribution of their digital versions (including Trial Versions) are slated to be terminated after October 30 2020 (23:59 JST), following similar departures for Wii U1 (2015/11/19), 3DS2 (2017/05/30) and Wii U2 (2019/10/31).

Those who have already purchased and downloaded the games' digital versions can of course continue to play them. Redownloading the game is also still available if you have purchased but deleted the game(s) from your console(s).

On the other hand, some have been expecting the closing of support for the console generation for the 3DS and Wii U being imminent...

DLC Termination Bulletin: 2019 Q1 Edition

Among the rush to report the newest updates to the current games, we can only check the older console games sporadically. Unlike the "goodbye songs" removals in the arcade scene that gets dedicated Namco Taiko Blog posts, termination of DLCs in console releases are usually only given notice on the main site, or sometimes only known when you cannot find the song/pack from the stores anymore.

Coming forward, we are looking to round-up these "DLC Termination Bulletins" once about every three months. If you so happened to find a DLC disappearance that you want us to cover as soon as possible, please also let us know.

3DS3 Update: Special Sticker Are Better Late Than Never

While the console front is having field days with the Sony people, Namco decides to have another present campaign to keep 3DS3 relevant (at least until Taiko Switch comes up perhaps?)

The present in question this time is the very mouthful "Special Sticker from which you can get in-game item". Yes, they are stickers for you to... stick on things. Yes, they reveal QR codes which you can scan with a copy of 3DS3 to get in-game items. And as a bonus, you can also have a dandy Taiko no Tatsujin themed backing sheet after all that!

All of these could be yours starting from August 9, i.e. two weeks ago! Yes sorry but to be frank we never expect 3DS3 to still have activity up to now.

One regrettable piece of information about Dokodon! Mystery Adventure has escaped the general public, until the Taiko Team itself went on its way to deliver the news through the tweet announcement displayed above. Indeed, this May's DLC lot is actually the last one for the third Taiko title for Nintendo 3DS, overlapping with its 1-year milestone of montly extra content delivery.

Now, the wait is all put into the next major Taiko console installment...
