This ongoing week continues to be quite an eventul one for the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise as a whole but unfortunately, as it turns out, not every documented happening is a positive-net one. For the more unfortunate side of the isle, earlier today it was spread the pre-emptive discontinuation notice of RHYTHM CONNECT, the mobile smartphone app succeeding to the decade-old Taiko Plus/Shinkyoku Tori Houdai. The notice is found both in the game's website (as shown above these lines) as well as inside the same app, both in Japanese and English.
The End of Service roadmap for the smartphone game will go through these steps in the coming months, all starting at 3 pm Japan time (GMT +9) unless otherwise specificed:
- August 29th, 2024 - end of sale for the 3-Months Passport
- October 31st, 2024 - end of sale for the 1-Month Passport; end of Pre-Paid Chargeback model setting
- November 25th, 2024 - end of sale for the 1-Week Passport
- December 2nd, 2024 - RHYTHM CONNECT servers shutdown; app removal from digital storefronts
