Started up as a single-song exchange involving the song Saika up to eventually welcoming another quartet of tunes from Rayark's original piano-based music game sensation (with the other three already been talked about around here!), it's time for us to close the page on the Deemo collaboration saga with the remaining track to talk about. Concurrently, today's entry also covers new ground for us to have a slight grid format change going forward with song features, by marking in red the Taiko games where the song's digital-only-distribution has been terminated... lest you forget, Taiko no Tatsujin Plus Shinkyoku Tori Houdai's 10-plus-year-spanning run has ended earlier this week!

Sakuzyo's MagiCatz is one of five original tunes to be introduced to its source game via one of the artist-centric songs packs -the Sakuzyo Collection-, joining Deemo's song pack roster with its v2.3 update. Later on, it was followed up by a somewhat-related original piece only for bemani gamers' ears under the title of StrayedCatz (available in beatmania IIDX/jubeat/SOUND VOLTEX, among all series) and by a chamber music-inspired rendition of MagiCatz itself, headed to the M3-Spring 2018 album release CONTEXT and with violin backing from Katali, a recurring collaborator of the 'deletion'-nicknamed composer (even in Taiko grounds!).

Other than the artist name being credited in Latin alphabet rather than the usual '削除' Japanese notation (perhaps to match the same crediting mention in the source game), MagiCatz brings up quite the unusual charting approach to Taiko-ported songs of frantic 1/24 small clusters one after another, while flowing under an average-to-slow BPM to still give out a really pressuring hit ratio for a perfect execution! In stricter otoge terms, such a trend is colloquially referred to as "honey rhythm" or "honeyism" (ハネリズム), doubling on the notion that most of the music markers to hit in a song are attracted to such musical portions... like bears to a honeypot! Aside for an in-between 1/12 charting respite and its ending portion, honeyism is the name of the game here, so you've better come prepared on the stamina side in order not to be swayed away by this deceptively-draining Oni challenge!
