If there's a moment in the year to check out your calendar before Web browsing, this is it! Continuing the ongoing streak of 'unique April Fools releases' on the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise's part, this year we're getting another unique stunt, accessible through the usage of the QR code above these lines.
This year's treat is... shall we say, rather unique on the presentation side, so we'll leave the reveal to a slight post jump to better savior the surprise factor for the blog readers planning a game center trip, later in the day...
...yes indeed, the fabled joke-y release for this year's prank is none other than the !!!Chaos Time!!! sequel that has been teased for the greater half of 2023! It's also worth mentioning how the colorful unique introduction it gets is only for the very first time the song is selected...
Not only the newly-creepying †††Chaos Time the DARK††† comes geared with its visual confusion in playable chart form... it actually comes with extras!
Here's how you access this year's shenanigans —
- Between April 1-27, scan the above QR code to get access to †††Chaos Time the DARK††† and past limited April Fools tracks (Kidaruma 2000, Yokuderu 15300, Nesin Amatias)
- Bandai Namco Passport (or equiv.) users playing †††Chaos Time the DARK††† (clear not required) during the campaign period can obtain the special-plated event title "Chaos Time Lich", and unlock the track to play without the QR code
- †††Chaos Time the DARK††† will be moved to the default song list after the campaign (April 28 onwards), but the special-plated title and zany visual effects will go rare.
- Kidaruma 2000, Yokuderu 15300 and Nesin Amatias can ONLY be accessed through the QR code, CANNOT be permanently unlocked and will NOT be playable after April 27 until at least next year.
- The Oni full-combo title "Dark Chaos Time" (not pictured and no special plate) is available independent of the campaign.
Plus, just like the infamous Ka of a few years back, we got an official music video out of this! It's available on t+pazolite's own YT channel, featuring plenty of out-of-the-ordinary elements to match the tune's mood, from dancing furniture to some... peculiar cameo action inbetween. I hope you got you're bags packed up, 'cause we're in for a T R I P !
