[RC] - Quick Pointers from Rhythm Connect's Official Release Day

The music delivery of Rhythm Connect's eponymous theme song across Nijiiro Version and Donderful Festival's Music Pass of today was not just a bit of "biding the wait" to the official version as we initially thought, as... yeah, the game itself marks today's v1.4.0 update delivery as the official release day for the app, across most Asian countries!

While we're still cooking up the dedicated song list page for RHYTHM CONNECT, here's what the official-release update entails for the game en large:
  • First of all, now the game is entirely localized in English! If your smart device is not in any of the Japanese/Chinese settings already endorsed by the app, the game will default you to English, with all available languages still interchangeable with each other in the game's "Other Menu" settings.
  • As advertised plenty of times in the past, the release update has brought in a whopping 161 additional songs, mostly covering the bases for the license-heavy genres (Pop, Anime Variety and a few extras on Vocaloid). For the current state of art, this makes it for a release-day total of 816 songs! Unlike the songs from the pre-release days, these new licensed songs have to be downloaded separately before playing, or in bulk via the "Download All Song Data" option through the Other Menu settings.
  • A few more songs now come geared with their own music video that plays on the bottom-half of the screen! They're enlarged by default, but it's possible to toggle a smaller full-view mode for these via the ingame options.

Across the licensed pool genres, we have some from Pop (Memeshikute, HIMAWARI HAPPY, Jitterin' Jinn's Natsu Matsuri among those), Vocaloid (Sayonara Sengen, KING and Vampire among those) and Variety (Cirno's Perfect Math Class and Marisa Stole the Precious Thing), but some of the pre-existing songs have retrofitted with their own MVs as well, such as Namco Originals Audio de Ka! and the theme song RHYTHM CONNECT!
  • Official album jacket art has also been added to a bunch of the newcomers, even if it's for songs without their own MVs of their own. The biggest beneficiary of this course of action is the Variety genre, with jacket art for most Touhou Project arrangements, the Denonbu songs and Yawaraka Sensha.
  • The app is also starting to spotlight a few tunes for "Prerelease" plays, flagged as such in the Music Search menu and fully playable. So far, we only have a trio of songs in this state, all being Hololive-related tunes already playable in former Taiko games: TEMPLATE, Hololive Ondo and Prism Melody, all Pop-genre songs.
