No frills and no quills, just a 9* Oni in order to respect this 9-centric time of the year. Longtime readers may remind how I took advantage of the last time this happened on a Saturday (link) to sneak in something of a "9.Moron"-ic nature, but due to both Blogger not allowing any further post-in-the-past-to-hide release date shenanigans and Taiko itself not housing any other Cirno-related songs to date, I couldn't replicate the feel today. That, however, WILL change for the franchise in the near future, and if Blogger itself doesn't delete another whole post of mine a few lines from finishing the draft here, you'll be able to read about it here as well as what we have already posted about it on our Twxtter account!
This wordy-of-a-title song to give the My Muscle Heart subtitle a run for its money is a 2020 hit from indie band Tsuyu (ツユ, stylized as TUYU), founded the year prior anc consisting of a trio of members: Pusu (ぷす) on guitar, (礼衣) for the vocals, and Miro on the piano. While the original YouTube channel had started in 2009 with a slew of original Vocaloid songs and covers for Pusu (even vocal ones!), the three banded together on a rainy season (hence the punny JP name for the band) in order to be able to create more songs as directly to the fans as possible, with the least of label-restricting partnership as possible, leading (after a 2-deal partnership with the PONY CANYON label) to the founding of their own 'Tsuyu Co-Ltd.' company, at the start of this very year.
In the odd chance you've ever been in the unlikely situation to state "I can't believe I'm going to steal something that's only precious to me at the cost of mud" in your life, you've unknowingly spelt out the English translation of this speedy pop song! We're not the only ones dealing with the lengthy-title conundrum among pops licenses either, as the song found a place to call home in a trilogy of bemani (Nostalgia, SOUND VOLTEX, GITADORA) and Sega (maimai, CHUNITHM, Ongeki) music games, not to mention the lone Groove Coaster game to carry that franchise's legacy as of late!
Indeed, I had to tip that "Feed A reference in SotW" swear jar once more today because -that's right!- it's another high-BPM licensed song that halves and normalizes its scrolling speed along the way to give out the implression of more mellow parts to play along the song, despite the average BPM staying the exact same. At least you're getting more approacheable patterns with monocolor cluster triplets, on this one!
