Livestream Recap: 20/02/2022 Taiko no Tatsujin Official Livestream

With the World Championship 2021 @ Gaiden online competition for Nijiiro players coming to an end, today's livestream was aired to reveal live the nicknames of the highest rankers out there. A bunch of other stuff happened that a passerby notification might not be enough for, and that's where we come into play!

As of the past few venues, Etou and 'No.11' Kimizu's livecasting antics of today are available on the same YouTube video address that was used for the live recording, the same one embedded above these lines. Meet us after the jump, however, for the trivia highlights of the show that have occurred before and after the online awarding ceremony!

Kicking things off is something that also transpired earlier in the week on the official arcade-focused Taiko Twitter handle: the Namco Original song collections by Omiko City's DJ Fua (from the YT Taiko no Tatsujin Anime) getting custom folders on Nijiiro Version for everyone to get a quicker access to them amongst the nearing-one-thousand-tracks inside. You can also use these QR codes on the Nijiiro cabinet code reader to have either of the two selections in a quicker fashion, too!

Pay ABSOLUTELY no attention to what transpired earlier in the week, appearing to be the third in line of the DJ Fua NamOri song collections, while you're at it...

Also in general AC news are two drumstick-shaped updates: the current MyBachi family models getting restocked at Namco Parks in Japan on March 6th and the first portion of the Ranking Dojo main trials (up to 10th Dan) being delivered later on, during the Summer season.

Straight out the last livestream's "Ask the Taiko Team" Q&A section, the formerly-received inquiry about an eventual return of the Start Dash Campaign from 2020 will find its exhausting reply fairly soon... under a brand new name!

The upcoming Rewards A-plenty Campaign will work just like its predecessor, awarding unlocks to Banapassport players according to of the number of credits being played under the campaign's operational period. Among the awards are the displayed Kigurumi parts, alongside brand-new song unlocks like the returning Neko Kujira and ON SAY GO SAY.

Following this was the Gaiden championship's awarding corner, for which we invite you to see the full-length livestream for the winners' reveals. Still, right below these words, you can take a gander at the title plates the highest rankers have received; if you're against someone showcasing either of the tags below at the game center, it's sure to be someone who means business!

There are also some less-business titles for the people lucky enough to be placed on specific meaningful ranks (765th, 876th, 2021st) and ranks that is drawn on stream.

With the winners' chariot ending its run, the arcade-oriented AMA corner has opened once again! The most notable thing, this time around, was an exclamation-point-marked note that was read at the very end, coming from somewhat of a familiar name...

"Etou-san, Kimizu-san, good rice-ning! Is it about time to do Chaos Time?" -t+pazolite

The silly transcending-dance-art-core shenanigans had to wait, however, for it was right about time to reveal live the very last of the Taiko de Time Travel songs, one for which steμ has drawn the energy of the already-ended 2021 in order to press on the ongoing one.

A little bit later on and it was revealed how the final track of the 20th Anniversary project is hitting Nijiiro arcades tomorrow, as there's no day like February ( month) the 21st to spell out 2021 well after its departure! Until the first arcade footage appears, click here to jump to the livestream's portion where the song was fully played first. See for yourself that, indeed, the "respecting Time Travelers" bit in the subtitle is not there just for show!

At long last, the stream ends with the promised Chaos Time segment, one that has been enriched by a last-minute fast scribbling from Etou himself... until next time, take care!
