As promised, today's featured entries for the Taiko Team blog are about the upcoming new firmware build for the arcade, split into two posts, starting from the data that Banapassport players can carry over from Sorairo Version to Momoiro Version.
Here's what can be carried over from the Sorairo Version build:
- All Don-chan data, including name, colors, costume
- All play data, including crowns and total crowns obtained, scores and detailed accuracy data for each song, number of plays, number of clears and number of full combos
- All unlocked titles, costumes, Taiko sounds and secret songs (with some exceptions)
- All counters of the number of times played on a song
- Most recently played songs
- All Donder Hiroba participation data, including friends, friend challenges, tournament entries, high scores and regional ranks, etc.
This time, only Don Points and a few things from the Donder Hiroba profile cannot be transferred, such as the News History and the high scores for the Friend Rankings (scores are kept, but will not be further updated after going to Momoiro). However, there's something else.
Unlike the conversion period from Taiko 0.5 to Sorairo, there are big changes to costumes, titles and Donder Hiroba's high-score listing which involve other data relocation and removals.
Momoiro Version outfit system has been renamed 'Kigurumi' (きぐるみ, lit 'costume' instead of 'Kisekae' 着せ替え, which means 'changing clothes', the name we've been using all this time) which allows players to customize their Don-chan drum in three parts: body, head and face.
Much like Taiko PSP DX, the outfits are now sorted into these three groups, with the full body costumes split (like the Vocaloid outfits...imagine Miku's hair on Gumi's outfit now!). For example, the Tetsuo Rider outfit will be reclassified as a Body outfit, meaning now you can combine it with two other costume pieces, like the one shown below!
Now, let's talk about about titles. Unlike the data migration to Sorairo, not all the titles achieved will be kept in Momoiro, as some changes will occur in the overall title list. Here's how titles will be handled if they are not directly exported:
- Title Removal (titles that will be completely removed and not achievable anymore in the future)
- Title Renaming (titles that will be kept on Momoiro but with a different name)
- Title Replacement (titles that wont't be ported on Momoiro but that will be somehow re-integrated in the user's profile in other forms in the future)
All of this will be done to place another new gimmick in Momoiro: now the player's personal title can be formed by combining two titles among the unlocked ones, giving even more profile customization options to everyone! We'll further discuss the specific title changes when we'll make a Momoiro Title list page.
Last but not least, the Donder Hiroba high-score rankings can now be sorted by area (Regional and National) in the new firmware. Plus, when two or more scores are tied-up in the rankings, the newer ones will be placed on higher ranks, unlike the alphabetical arrangement on the older machines.
Next up is a blog entry about Momoiro's new default songs, so stay tuned!
