Taiko Wii U - multiplayer, costumes, stamps and new songs!

More clear screens for the upcoming Taiko Wii U! 4Gamer.net posted another new article today to cover the new details released for the game.

The first aspect being analyzed is the usual multiplayer mode, available with the usual variants (Score, Accuracy, Max Combo and so on), but with some other new elements thrown in to spice up the competition, aside from the well-known Item mechanic. First of all, a new spin on score battling called the Taisen (対戦, lit. Battle) option.

Where are the players's scores? If the Taisen option is turned on, the player's scores and max combo will be kept hidden after a certain point during the play, adding a mystery factor as to who is on the lead.

Next up, boss fights may not be here, but their legacy remains!

The Ojama (おじゃま) option will feature different visual distractions during the play if it's turned on, distracting the player and blocking their view of the notes. Ms. Cat and Mr. Ladle want to join the fun too, after all!

There are also fake notes of all kinds, coming at the player's faces in different shapes, speed and sizes. Including differently-faced notes as well!

Next up, the Stampbook (i.e. achievements) makes its return from the portable PSP and 3DS games! As usual, stamps are awarded based on the players progress and feats achieved in the game. The Taiko Counter is back too!

The stampbook has 5 different pages. With 22 stamps for each page, we can assume that there is a maximum number of 110 stamps. Each stamp even has its different design!

As always, costumes, game modifiers, Taiko sounds and hidden songs are among the unlockables obtained by filling up the Stampbook.

Speaking of costumes, here are some new images of the Dress-up menu! As seen in yesterday's scans, it's possible to customize your Taiko buddy in seven ways: three color schemes, a hat, facial accessories, a body part and side patterns. Part repetitions among players are allowed, as long as the drums don't use the exact same parts/colors combinations.

Don't know which outfit combo to use during the plays? The Random Outfit button in the Song Selection menu is back to randomly pick your look in a pinch.

As a side feature, it's also possible to take a photo of your favorite Taiko drum outfits in several backgrounds, and send your creation to Taiko Wii U's Miiverse group as well!

Next up, more details about Taiko Wii U's songlist. Counting unlockables, the game will have about 70 songs, with more content (either free and paid) being added as DLC in the future. We can already spot some previously unseen songs from the pictures for the Stamp feature (Namco Original Yuujou Pop and Classic song Radetzky March), but the 4Gamer.net article mentions some other names, including the Namco Original songs which were already announced in the previous Taiko Team live streaming, Highschool love! for the Game Music genre and other returning entries for the Classic genre (Eine Kleine Nachtmuzik and Entry of the Gladiators)

The last thing discussed are the custom dancers for the game, which consist of the return of Hatsune Miku dancers (for the Miku songs) and Idolm@ster dancers for Nanairo Button. It's currently unknown whether Gumi songs or other tunes will have their dancers, aside from the ones previously revealed.

Less than a month left to Taiko Wii U's release, and the hype is already building up! To see these pictures in a higher resolution, you can visit the latest 4Gamer.net article about Taiko Wii U.
