Before the end of the year, we finally get to talk on the blog about a China-related cross-arcades tournament we've lightly touched upon our Taiko Time SMS accounts beforehand, bringing a small trove of original content that is bound to come across public arcades in the future, courtesy of China's largest active arcade manufacturer.
Wahlap Games is used to host a number of cross-arcade events to advertise their craft -both inhouse and licensed- to mainland China players en large, with one of the latest being a cross-genre arcade tournament to determine the greatest game center champion by challenging its contestants at a number of title -active and not- of many differing genres: the Walhap eSports Championship.
The 2025 edition, among other things, was noteable for hosting a number of rhythm games for both Qualifiers and Finals rounds, with Taiko no Tatsujin being a major player at the Finals event, which was held from October 2nd to the 5th. At the end of the competition, it was announced how select active series would house the four original songs that were commissioned for the event for the general public to play later on. You guessed it- Taiko no Tatsujin was among such parties!
No further details for their release, however, were given back then (or even if these are going to stay region-exclusive), so on that front we'll still have to wait and see.
