Us around Taiko pastures surely remember the guitar-play-leaning Sato Takafumi (X account) for a handful of Namco Originals that were released between the 2nd generation's tail and and the beginning of the "AC0" firmware line (the one with the separate-color firmwares), as well as his voice-acting role for the first 3DS video game's antagonist, the villainous clown Maou. The 15-years-BNSI-musician's most prominent work in his years at Bandai Namco's, however, are all pertaining the Idolm@ster franchise and some of its more-recent branches, including the very recent Gakuen Idolm@ster for which he's the overall music producer, even after departing from the company. Let it be known, however, that it lead his hand across other side projects from the Kanagawa-founded company... the multimedia Denonbu franchise very much included!

Debuting in the first Nijiiro-headed collaboration with the DJ-set-based music project, Idol Berserker is one of the solo idol songs revolving one of the girls from Akiba's Sotokanda Literature High School (more on that here): Kayano Futaba, voiced by Sena Horikoshi. The song's title is owed to Internet user comments to Kayano Futaba's rather aggressive approach to DJ mixing, as shown in a video adaptation of a Denonbu-centric web novel first posted in July 2021: Kuji Masumune (久慈マサムネ)'s Denonbu Novel Part 1 (電音部ノベル 第1部)- Despite Sato Takafumi and Kayano's CV getting top billing via song mentions in Taiko, another couple of artists have contributed to the creation of Idol Berserker: fellow BNSI member Goto Takanori (後藤貴徳) for backing guitar play and anisong writer/performer Eri Sasaki (佐々木恵梨) for the chorus. Just like all solo Sotokanda Literature High School songs, Idol Berserker got its single release (on August 21st, 2020) and a joint album debut with October 2020's New Park, the first album to have the Akiba DJ school club's group song Hand Over in published form.

Idol Berserker in Taiko, however, boasts another kind of 'first', as in the first (and so far, the only one) of the Denonbu songs to get subjected to the Ura Oni treatment. With a base BPM nearing 200, it's easy to turn the most manual-standard 1/16 charting approach into a more energy-pressuring gauntlet just by making more and longer note clusters within!
