Following tn-shi's Mood Swing, the song adopted for the Store Qualification phase of the WCS 2024 tournament, today's brand new Namco Original fills the same role for the Area Elimination phase instead, while joined by a handful of tracks from the first Faith Creation musikc contest the same. It's also the first one to greet browsers of the latest FaiCre contest's winners judge comments page, no less!

Whether you go with online translators' take of "Ultimate Wizard" or the official-games-approved English translation of "The Witch of Farthest End", Sai Hate no Mahoutsukai still means the same outcome for its creator Halv (Twitter; YouTube; SoundCloud): the first step into Taiko stardom after barely missing the mark the year prior's contest, with the song Ten-teratsu Ritsudo (天照らす律動) that ultimately went no further than a Bronze honorable mention from judge Masubuchi. Let it be known that Halv managed to strike gold in music gaming multiple times ever since, mostly for a mobile-accustomed audience too, with originals landing in Lanota (Concvssion; Inorganyx Prayer), Dynamix (Kyubi, Sushi Tornado), Phigros (Khronostasis Katharsis) and Muse Dash (Tsukuyomi). Even SOUND VOLTEX was fair play for a Halv cameo, with another contest song making it in as Twinkle Rookie!

Once again, we're integrally reporting a (translated, of course) integral abstract out of Etou's judge comment of Sai Hate no Mahoutsukai, as a perfect incapsulation that lead to this song being one of the 2023 contest's winners. Really puts things into perspective as an 'otoge-genre-staple' with a touch of fantasy, considering Etou's overall look on this tune as "mainstream but differenciated"!

"We evaluated and selected this work as a work that gives you a sense of immersion and tension as if you were entering a magical world, and is beautifully packaged as if it were a picture book."

This heartfelt sentiment is translated in chart form with a 1/16-leading gauntlet of upper-9* madness, topped off with some tricky 1/12 portions halfaway and near the very end. No Ura on debut, but you never know... [and future me speaking: waddayaknow!?] Sai Hate no Mahoutsukai, in fact, was one of 7 songs to be bestowed a top-star-rating Ura Oni chart after the WCS 2024 conclusion, one chart that really has it all on the modern charting tropes on top of quite the deceptive 1/12 note stream, whose irregularity is sure to toll some careless mis-hits to many!
