Namco Taiko Blog (5 July 2012) - A truck full of news

Today, Namco's Taiko Team revealed tons of details for Taiko 0's new songs upon the update and some other stuff related to the most recent portable console games. Ready for this giant bombshell?

First of all, here is a partial list of Codename Katsu-Don's new songs. Most of them (especially the licensed ones from J-Pop and Anime) are also included in Taiko 3DS, but there is also new stuff.

Red New! is an arcade debut, while a blue New! is an arcade revival.

New! Fly away
New! Ninja wa Saiko (忍者は最高)
New! Nagisa no Andromeda (渚のアンドロメダ)
New! Suuhaa 2000 (スーハー2000)
New! Yuugao no Kimi (ウガオノキミ)

Proving that the rumored song list is correct (despite the source still being unknown), the new arcade will have new songs for all genres except Classic and Children/Folk, and there are also two new Namco Originals above Andromeda from PSP DX and Suuhaa 2000 from 3DS, which is shown on the blog as an entirely new song since Namco are keeping the 3DS songlist a secret (on their own sites, every other gaming website has had official PR information for a while now.).
Also, for the first time, the Taiko Team stated that not one song from the current songlist will be deleted on the way to Katsu-Don save for the replacement of Monster Hunter Medley with the more current Tri G medley, so there won't be any 'Good-bye songs' article.
But wait! There's more! Namco Bandai will be streaming themselves playing Taiko 3DS online, previewing the game's Adventure and Battle modes. Unlike the previous Taiko Team sessions aired via Ustream, this one will be held on their own direct TV website, Bandai Namco Live TV.

This special broadcast will be on July 11, 10:00pm-11:00pm (Japan time)

Lastly, this month's download pack of Taiko PSP DX will be released on July 26th, much later than usual. Nothing is known about the songs yet, but we will probably see them next week. Most importantly, on PSP DX's one-year anniversary on July 14th, the distribution of most of the promotional songs and the gadgets related to them will be stopped. This includes:
  • Hyakka Ryouran with Rina Koike dancer
  • Kaze no Fantasy with purchase of Hori PSP Memory Stick
  • Ponytail to Shushu and Pastel Dream from the code on the box
  • All Lawson gifts, including the costumes
  • Trial version of Taiko Portable DX
