Ohayou! Taiko Summer is composed by Yuri Misumi, which is one of the longest Taiko opening themes ever composed (not counting the full version of Nijiiro Yumeiro Taikoiro), and also one of the most forgotten. Like most other console themes, this stayed put in the version it was made for, Taiko no Tatsujin Yondaime, the 4th PS2 Taiko which has summer as its main theme. It is sung by Tanimoto Takayoshi (谷本貴義), the singer of other Anime and Namco Original songs recently revived for console games like Dragon Soul (Dragon Ball Kai's OP), Dajare de Oshare and Happy & Peace.
Even if there isn't a full-length version of this song, the playable version of this song is actually longer than the tune in the opening video, a characteristic of a few other PS2 themes like the Godaime theme song. Its 6* Oni mode precedes the modern trend of slow songs with snappy note clusters of 2 and 3, making the song both relaxing and lively at the same time. Incidentally, its max combo value hints at the game's release date and year (22 July 2004 = 422).
