Namco Taiko Blog (3 October 2013) - More about Taiko Tournament 2013's finals

太鼓の達人 ドンだー!日本一決定戦2013

For every skilled player who passes the Area Elimination (and for everyone else who wants to watch the Finals), today's blog entry has further details about the conclusive day of this arcade competition.

Once again, the Finals will be held at Namco Bandai's Future Lab on October 26th. Unlike the 2011 arcade tourney, finalists can choose only one song of their choice for every round (First Round Match, Semi-Finals, Third Place Play-off and Finals). For each competing couple of players, the winner is the one who scored the highest on the two songs played under Shin'uchi mode. Elimination proceeds until the top 3 players.

Finalists will be able to invite 3 other people to spectate, but now more can join the event! Other people can now watch the event by joining a lottery on this website, available only today until 4 pm (Japan time). The selected spectators can also invite up to 3 people with them as well! For everyone else, live streaming of the Finals is scheduled once again, but further details will be supplied on a future date.

Why this chance to go to the Finals? The Taiko Team changed their minds about the arcade distribution of the Namco Original tune Yuugen no Ran (幽玄ノ乱), which was initially planned to be given only to the Finals players. Now it's possible for the audience to grab the song for themselves, with special card readers unlocking the song for them upon their next Sorairo play. Both the song and the Super Zeami outfit previously revealed will still be unlockable by having 2-player sessions on Taiko 0 with players who have already unlocked them (as well as using them for the 2P match).
