The first of the four original songs for the 25th anniversary project sure bolsters an all-star lineup, with BNSI veteran Yano Yoshito and reoccurring original-anniversary-song-maker Rihito Tsuboi at the composing helm. With guitar backing by Goto Takanori (後藤貴徳) and trackdown by Yota "MNZ" Ishizuka (石塚陽大; X account), Re:Play!! plays on the "timeless roster" side also with its own vocalists, with Nanahira making original songs since the ongoing Reiwa era's beginning and the return of the vocalist for the always-popular -Dream/Kaze no Fantasy songs. performing for a Namco Original for the first time in almost 15 years since the coming of Pastel Dream for the PSP's Portable Deluxe!
The most vocal of the talents pertaining the song's creation is Rihito Tsuboi, penning on X (link) how this is a song that was "painstakenly produced" over the course of months, in the hopes of inspiring everyone who 'loves' with any element of the tune, penned in haiku-like form by the same for its melody, rhythm and lyrics. The same Tsuboi also left a written impression on the Donderful Song Project's minisite (link) about his introduction to the series as a whole, growing fond in music in his elementary-grade years where he wasn't fond of piano at all and ultimately helping shaping this very self to what has become of him to this very day. The same impetus is reflected n the researched composition/vocalizing of the song, hoping to offer a bridge that both newcomers to the franchise and people who already revel in it for years can truly enjoy.
The arcade coming of Re:Play!! was followed with more than just the song release and the expected unlockable titles: the very same logo for the 25th anniversary celebration was also handed out as a Petit Chara for everyone! Designed by the nicknamed Keshi go Muno Kasu (けしごむのかす, lit. "Eraser Dust"), the quirky logo was automatically added to every Banapassport-registered player who played any Taiko arcade version once prior to February 21st, 2026, while every other succeedingly-released Banapassport account can unlock it by just playing Re:Play!! on game centers the same. Unprecedented to the Nijiiro era's anniversary songs tradition, this was also the first one to get a simultaneous release on the console front, thanks to Donderful/Rhythm Festival's Taiko Music Pass model. The 25th Petit Chara logo is also available the same, just by playing the song!
For the more seasoned Taiko no Tatsujin fans who are used to scout every nook and cranny of its playable charts, numberplays of all sorts are also a surefire way to bridge the Taiko of past and present times in a tidly-folded bow... and sure enough, we've got those in spades for this one! Notecharter Sentai Ashira (アシラ)'s Oni chart has a few choice way to reference the number 25 across all difficulties, be it with cumulative hitballoon drumroll hits (Futsuu and Oni modes only) and Oni's Max Combo of 625 just being another way to write down 25^2, or 25 squared. With vocalist Yoko Takamitsu being on board, it's also to be expected for Angel Dream to be quoted in the song as a whole, directly in charting style (especially in the beginning) as a faster rendition of it with less notes overall. Near the end, we've also got a line drop from Todoroke! Taiko no Tatsujin, the first song in the 20th anniversary's Taiko de Time Travel project!
