One quick glance at the Taiko Team's recent SNS feeds and we're reminded how the 'Weekend Warrior' treatment isn't reserved for brand-new songs alone! Two formerly console-exclusive Ura Oni settings have been added today on arcade grounds, one of which we still have to talk about around here...

176Viral dances are on the menu once more, due to the Ura-porting action we got today! Together with the Vocaloid song Happy Synthesizer that we've already talked about in past SotW shores (do check it out, we've updated its page accordingly!), S'il Vous President's Ura Oni is now available to all Nijiiro enjoyers out there, Other than its title mashing up French ("Please", as part of the expression 'Sil Vous Plait') and English, what other juicy bits of trivias can we find, this time around?
For starters, what we have here is yet another song coming from a YouTube-spawn independent Vtuber: the nicknamed P Maru-sama. (website; YT channel), in activity since 2015. Starting out with simple voice acting jigs while skimming across flipbooks, the first virtual Youtuber activities are dated to 2017, after the purchase of a personal computer and dedicated software with which she made videos outside her regular working hours as the Vtuber Kaguya Luna (輝夜月), which was retired 3 years later. The P Maru-sama was mostly for game commentary but after a few choice experiences as an artist for a Strawberry Prince fanbook and even a few voice acting jigs (including a Yokai Watch spinoff show!), it came back as a whole persona and used it for the publication of new songs since late 2020. Among those was March 2021's S'il Vous President, being produced by Masato Kashinawa (柏原真人) aka Nanamori (ななもり), none other than the leader of the same Strawberry Prince unit of all people!
The 'viral factor' of this song was owed to TikTok user Oshima Shun (フィンガー・ダンス), whose finger-based choreography was emulated thousandfold on the popular app and helped it peaking constantly its inner charts, debuting 10th at TikTok's own HOT TUNES section and peaking at 1st for several weeks in the same year. It also peaked first at Japan Heatseeker Song charts in 2021, while also helping to certify P Maru-sama's debut album Sunny!! as Gold since February 2022, surely thanks in great deal with S'il Vous President as its no.6 track. Most of the other contributors to the song's making are also Strawberry Prince-related like its MV illustrator nanao, but the composing/lyricist heart of this quirky song was Vocaloid songmaker Iwami Riku (岩見陸) aka Nanaoshi Orchestra (ナナホシ管弦楽団), which has also released a Hatsune Miku-powered cover version on his own, roughly one month after the original's bublishing on YouTube.
aIt goes without saying, but with digital music viral sensation, the otoge actors are soon to follow, with the original version of S'il Vous President joining hands with other franchises over time. At Konami/bemani's, we have the song landing on beatmania IIDX, DanceDanceRevolution, SOUND VOLTEX and jubeat, while CHUNITHM and Ongeki were the two games housing it on Sega's part. A cover by Gingaza was made playable for multimedia franchise World Dai Star's music gaming outing (link), whereas BanG Dream! had a special version with P Maru-sama performing in vocals with the Hello, Happy World! in-game unit's members.
The average difficulty degree on Taiko is comparable to your 2nd-generation charting of iDOLM@STER tunes, matching an upbeat tempo with little to no time to rest between hits. That is, until we dial the hands of time a little further and we get to the release of its infamous Ura Oni chart, not only a menace on its own thanks to its long cluster section and occasional 1/24-spaced thrills- it's a nightmare for accuracy hunters too! It's good to have such a part at the beginning but nonetheless, that Kat-leading portion charted behind P Maru-sama's initial speech is sure to toll one OK hit or two, more than often...
