[NS2/PTB] - End-July's Digitally-Distributed Treats

Just as the month is coming to a close, the latest Donderful/Rhythm Festival TMP song removal round is followed with the rise of a brand-new Ura Oni setting, this time around for one of PinocchioP's songs from past years.

At the same time, the everlasting Pop Tap Beat receives yet another update, bringing back Jojo's Bizarre Adventures to the Taiko table after a couple of years since its last outing!

Namco Taiko Blog (2025/07/24): Nijiiro ver. July 2025 Update and the Stream of Additions and Collabs

Coming in near the end of the month of July are news about the upcoming 2025/07/30 update to Taiko no Tatsujin Nijiiro ver., filled with new tracks and collaboration efforts.

Just like this soon-ending June, eight songs are scheduled to come to the TMP service next month, with the first four-fold delivery happening next Thursday. From licensed debuts (with non-covers on toe!) to formerly-arcade-exclusive April Fools treats and one of the closest 10* Oni not to be rated as such, there's a little something for everyone... Not to mention the obligatory "reparations-for-Music-Pass-deletion " Ura Oni debut of yesterday!

Icing on the cake is the reveal of a children-friendly song pack for all versions, the first one made of songs that are currently not available in the Taiko Music Pass! As the title suggests, it's made of nursery rhymes and other children-friendly tunes, some brand-new and something harking as back as the PS2 days with Furusato and Fuji no Yama (Fuji-san in the final PS2 game) from the physical-rehabilitation arcade machine Taiko RT Nippon no Kokoro.

Arknights x Taiko no Tatsujin Promo Video

The other end of the collaboration bargain between Bandai Namco's flagship music game series and Hypergryph's Arknights tower-defense game is now public knowiledge, with the reveal on Bilibili of a time-limited outfit for the players of the gacha game to acquire. This is for the 4-star Vanguard operator Myrtle, available for sale in the coming weeks.

Why this might be relevant on our end is how later on the same PV we also got brief art snippets of what appear to be more Taiko-affine cosmetics, and more specifically Petit Chara and full-body outfit combos pertaining the same Myrtle and another couple of operators, chibi-fied for the skin: Skadi the Corrupting Heart (not to be confused with Skadi the icecream-loving goddess) and Mizuki. Whether these will become unlockable for Nijiiro players or not, however, only time can tell...
