Song of the Week! 30 November 2024

Today's feature is sort-of a follow-up of last week's, in that it doubles as a handy reminder on soon-ending things in Taiko. With a doubly-perma-removed song and its grounds behind its termination(s), to guess what's gonna disappear forever is a pretty easy feat...

[DF] Taiko no Tatsujin Donderful Festival early December 2024 Taiko Music Pass and DLC Updates

The final Taiko Music Pass loadout for 2024 will run down just like this ending month's: four songs next Thursday (December 5th) and then an additional 5-songs delivery in three weeks, with the unveiling happening a week prior (December 12th). For now however, look forward to the latest Kamen Rider song and the latest post-BanNam-departure Mifumei song in Taiko!

What's of note today, however, is an additional surprise Ura Oni debuting delivery (of a Mickey Mouse song, of all things!) as well as one of the Detective Conan themes leaving TMS Nintendo Switch exclusivity and getting available to the 120FPS Rhythm Festival re-releases family.

[ACN West] - Taiko no Tatsujin Nijiiro Version @ IAAPA Expo 2024

https://blooloop.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/IAAPA-Expo.jpg

Four whole months have gone since last July's Taiko no Tatsujin World Championship 2024 Finals event, the first event in which it was officially announced the coming of modern Taiko arcades in the United States, with a blurb stating how operations in the continent would be beginning on November 2024. Now that the month in question has come (and it's almost gone), ... what about it?

As it turns out, Bandai Namco has been attending the ongoing edition of the IAAPA Expo 2024 in Orlando (Florida), the latest venue for presenting and showing attractions for game centers and the sorts, to the larger public of arcade goers and managers all over the world. This was also the first venue in which Nijiiro Version cabinets were showcased on a bigger scale, for further-down-the-line distribution of it across the States! We've been following up this story over our social media handles at Twitter/X and BlueSky, but for this here post we'll be aiming for a middle-of-the-road summary of the bit of news that the more-seasoned Taiko audience might wanna be hearing about first.

Just like for the content shared/retweeted on social media, most of the videos/SNS messages you're about to see beyond the jump are part of the extended coverage of the event in question made by the independent arcade-versed newscasting website Arcade Heroes, including some extra details that the contributors to said websites have gathered by talking to staffers and managers from Bandai Namco at the venue.

Song of the Week! 16 November 2024

Another Anime feature in a row! One I've had to wait for the proverbial "dust to settle down" at that, considering the... well, unfortunate circumstances surrounding the song's Taiko no Tatsujin debut.
More on that later...

[DF] - Donderful/Rhythm Festival's November '24 Update, Part 2

Today we got the announcement for the anticipated 2nd Taiko Music Pass update for the month, applying to both the older Nintendo Switch release and the last-week-debuting ports for modern systems and PCs.

Longtime series fans can sure look forward to the return of the Toriko opening themes and the final of Azu♪'s Dragon songs to make the Rhythm Festival jump. Also notable is the coming of the recent fan-favorite Vocaloid release of Mesmerizer in Taiko gaming overall, soon revealed on social media to actually be the first of three Kasane Teto songs to come via Taiko Music pass in three consecutive months. Look forward to December and January's upcoming TMP updates for the rest of this trilogy!

-) Oshi no Ko Collaboration Pack

We've seen last time on these shores how the impending Donderful/Rhythm Festival multiplatform release didn't stop the Switch version to have/claim exclusive content on its own... and the trend seems to continue even after the more-modern releases' actual debut! Releasing six days after the just-mentioned Taiko Music Pass update (November 27th), the freshly-ended Oshi no Ko series is having a collaboration pack, one that arguably clouds every other brand-deal in the game by the sheer quantity of content featured! We're talking about:
  • Three playable songs, with two of them being overall series debuts
  • Eleven (11!) Oshi no Ko Petit Charas
  • An Idol Ai Hoshino full-body Kigurumi outfit
  • Three custom title plates
  • Unique stage/dancers while playing any of the OnK songs in Dondoko Fitness mode

While the pricing for this pack is still unknown, you can also head to the dedicated collab subsection of Donderful/Rhythm Festival's website for more screens about the full deal.
