Despite the title, bad guy (cover to Billie Eilish) is not a bad ★7, with a healthy mix of different triplet patterns on a medium speed. Watch out on the one BPM change towards the end though.

DDU-DU DDU-DU (cover to BLACKPINK), on the other hand, is the harder pick of the day despite the lower notecount, especially with the longer 12th streams and hanging offbeat singles just before the bridge.

Trademark Watch: "Donderful Festival" Filed with Japan Patent Office

Back in early August 2021, Bandai Namco Entertainment (BNEI) filed the trademark application for "Donderful Festival" (ドンダフル フェスティバル) with the Japan Patent Office, under trademark classes that consist of aspects in both arcade and console gaming.

As you are probably aware, "Donderful" (ドンダフル, a portmanteau of "don" and "wonderful") has almost exclusive use with Taiko no Tatsujin, from the old difficulty predating Oni, one half of the 2011 soundtrack release to the name for the rainbow crown achievement. This could mean BNEI may have preliminary plans for the rhythm game series on the horizon, but we have no information at this stage.

Namco Taiko Blog (2021/09/22): What Goes Around (the globe) Comes Around (the world)

A big part of the 2021 "season" of Taiko no Tatsujin (March 2020/Nijiiro ver.) is about the globalization of arcade Taiko no Tatsujin, breaking out of the comfort zone of being a purely Japanese experience. Seeing how the tournament circuit is being slightly obstructed on that front, the music line-up is taking the helm to forward those efforts:

• Usage of these songs in Donder Hiroba tournaments and challenges are terminating earlier, starting 2021/10/01 00:00
• Crown totals will be adjusted with the removal as of 2021/10/20 02:00
• Scores and rankings on Donder Hiroba will be closed off starting 2021/10/20 07:00
• If you have set any of these songs as a favourite, the slot will be changed back to unspecified as of 2021/10/20 07:00
