The Taiko Team is not the only one releasing a second part to their charades today, as we too have to wrap up a continued affair on this corner... a twin song request's latter half, that is!

akbhvy (AKB48 Heavy Rotation)
Today in our Saturday feature family, we're welcoming once again the prolific cover song mileage of the members-aplenty Japanese idol unit AKB48, in the act's 17th single composed by Shun Yamazaki (山崎燿) and lyricized by Yasushi Akimoto (秋元康), the act's very own producer producer.
This song's artist lineup was entirely decided by AKB48's fans through the unit's second General Election survey which was held by gathering votes from buyers of AKB48's immediately previous single, Ponytail to Shushu. The August 10th, 2010 single release of Heavy Rotation would ultimately reveal how the winning idol was Yuko Oshima (大島優子) as the center performer and the sole member to appear on the disc's Side B cover, with Side A being instead filled by the 2nd-to-5th performers who also perform as the song's backing idols in stage performances: Atsuko Maeda, Mariko Shinoda, Tomomi Itano and Mayu Watanabe.
The song's overwhelmingly positive reception from both critics and fans is tangible across different layers in 2010's Asian media, with the origin single being the year's 2nd-placed best-seller (only being bested by Beginner, another one from AKB48!) and the song itself topping the charts of most-played karaoke songs with JOYSOUND for 43 consecutive weeks. Heavy rotation itself also received covers from other foreign multi-idol acts that are sisters to AKB48: one in 2013 (SNH48's Chinese version), two in 2019 (AKB48 Shanghai's Mandarin version; SGO48's Vietnamese version) and a Thai version last year by BNK48. The original song was also used as asn insert piece to both AKB48-related media (among which we nover AKB48 Nemouso TV) and TV commercials among which is also one for the Nintendo Wii's first Just Dance game!
True to 2nd-gen licensed picks' average trend, here we find a charting job for a song with a shorter beginning chorus section and a longer chorus towards the end, both peppered with an incredibly generous amount of drumroll markers for your average Oni mode while also never straying away from the 1/16 mono-color cluster charting approach.
