...okay, this one isn't about an actual website update for the soon-to-be-released new Taiko game, but the content that follows might eventually join the official page in the coming weeks. Now sit back for 4Gamer.net's latest updates about the game!
The article's main focus is on the Mystery Adventure's second chapter, which will see the Taiko brothers and their new friends traveling across Easter Island, where the party will investigate about the disappearance of the main village's eldest Moai Head statue.
After interrogating the locals and their leader, the MakeMake Grandfather, a jungle trip awaits the Taiko brothers with plenty of new enemies to encounter, with the bright Cockatrice as the chapter's boss. Watch out for the fossilized rock formations coming through!
Not everyone in the wild will be hostile to the drumming party, however, as previously-revealed guest characters from the Kirby, Phoenix Wright and Kamisama Minarai series are located in the island and ready to become powerful allies. Together with these previously-announced cameos, Studio Ghibli is also having some collaboration fun with 15th Taiko Anniversary mascot Mouchu ready to help in the wilds!
The 4Gamer.net article also features the Monster Fusion mechanics supplied by the game, which are accessible by using thie pot pictured below, appearing in the Story Mode's hub world.
Basically, party members that are met during random encounters in the game can be fused into other characters as an alternative method to earn experience points! From the screens below, we also know that monsters from the same Story Mode chapter of the base fusion character will net him more EXP than usual, while fusing certain combinations of monsters together will result in the creation of a brand new character.
And now, more song reveals! More specifically, we have 5 new Classic songs and 5 Namco Original tracks to talk about.
