A Composer's Farewell

Through all the joyful and eventful circumstances surrounding the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise, we at Taiko Time would like to have a good time with you readers, celebrating and sharing all the news coverage and features we post here. But today, let's have a moment of silence for a tragic event which we were completely unaware of until now.

On February 16th this year, Luv-Kraft composer Ishibashi 'mirawi' Wataru (石橋渡) passed away at the age of 39. The news comes from the Luv-Kraft unit itself, with a late-May post on its Tumblr account. We deeply apologize for our lack of coverage on the subject matter, as we came to know about the saddening reveal only now, thanks to our resident editor nigelliusnitrox.

Together with Satou-gin (佐藤銀), mirawi is the co-composer of nearly all the Namco Original songs featuring either Chata or Kaori Aihara as the singer. As we are also indirectly affected by this loss, we'll have a Behind the Drums feature about mirawi this Sunday.

May his soul rest in peace.
