Company 1st PLACE's "crystal voice" Vocaloid IA has been an unexpected success and has been contributing songs to both arcade and console Taiko. The release of Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken comes with yet another, quite recent IA Hall of Legend song, counting over 3 million views as of today!

Originally uploaded on April 11th, 2012, Roku-Chounen to Ichiya Monogatari (lit. 'A Tale of Six Trillion Years and a Night') is the second Vocaloid song on Taiko made by freelance composer kemu, whose first song was Megpoid Gumi's Jinsei Reset Button. Being the leader of a doujin (indie) group (called 'KEMU VOXX'), this elusive producer's works are all tied together into an actual song series -commonly referred to as 'PANDORA VOXX'- whose songs are currently planned to be featured in a series of official visual novels, starting June last year. As of now, all of kemu's songs have managed to enter either the Hall of Fame (>100,000 views) or the Hall of Legend (>1,000,000 views), with this IA song being the fourth one from the composer to gain the Legends status.

Roku-Chounen to Ichiya Monogatari tells the story of a nameless demon boy who wants to become human, but can't because he is being held prisoner and abused by his mother. As he loses the will to live, a mysterious girl stops by his prison and helps him escape, starting a new, happy life together despite the fact that the two know very little of each other. The song is featured in the EXIT TUNES compilation album Vocaloconnection, TEAM Entertainment's IA THE WORLD ~風~ (Kaze), and avex trax's Yoen Waso Emaki.

This song's Oni mode is an average 9* with many plain clusters, and not much is noteworthy save for a 53-note cluster towards the end and a fake-out near the end, with sudden, gradual BPM shifts giving the illusion that the chart is finished. Much like the other Vocaloid songs on Taiko 3DS 2, the voices being used are not credited into the song's subtitle and the custom dancers from the previous arcade games are not being featured as well.

Several years after Yozakura Shanikusai, IA's latest song on Taiko is the next Ura Oni to have a notecount smaller than its regular Oni (an even more drastic cut than Yozakura; almost 100 notes of difference here!). Like Yozakura's Ura Oni, Roku-Chounen Ura replaces plain, volume-centric note patterns with complexity, however is arguably easier than the regular Oni because of the lower notecount, which makes for better recovery times.
