Quick news has been revealed today about Taiko no Tatsujin all of a sudden: starting with some random tweets and a late-night stream session on Nico Nico Live, a sudden update just hit the Japanese Taiko blog at 11 pm to summarize the new stuff.
Earlier today, some tweets from the Taiko Team invited their followers to watch an online broadcast, airing on 10pm to 11pm on Nico Nico Video today itself. The reason? Etou would appear to "say something special about Taiko no Tatsujin".
The stream featured some guest stars, a spoof Dragon Quest monster parade and all sorts of gibberish humor. But what's new for the Taiko scene?
As this post's first image also shows, another groundbreaking collab with the Taiko franchise is going to begin, this time featuring Japan's favourite video-hosting website.
The collab is still wrapped in mystery (more details are said to be given at next Friday's Taiko Team Ustream session), some fancy stuff related to both Taiko and Nico Nico Douga have been revealed. The aforementioned Ustream session will be aired live on Nico Nico Douga at the scheduled time(8-9 pm, Japan time), where the brand new Vocaloid genre will be welcomed; the team will play songs from that genre.
Later this month, the Taiko Team will also take part in a big NicoNico conference later on March. For the occasion, the Taiko Team will play a special song whose patterns are created for the conference, and people on Twitter may add their suggestions on the freshly-created hashtag #nico_taiko. About four hours have passed since the stream and requests are already pouring in, mostly for Bemani crossovers (smooooch and DIAVOLO)
The Taiko part of the stream was short, with Etou on the drawing board, starring Don-chan dressed as Hatsune Miku.
Shortly after today's broadcast on Nicovideo, the Taiko Team added a post on their blog, summing up both the stream and the three main reasons to watch this Friday's stream:
1) See the Taiko Team playing with the incoming arcade model, also featuring new costumes and a brand new song never heard before! (maybe it will be played too in the show, who knows)
2) Come to hear more about the ground-shaking big news in the world of drumming!
3) Find out how the "Taiko x Nico Nico Douga" collaboration will progress in March!
Again, you can follow the stream this Friday (March 8th) on 8-9 pm, Japan time. It will be possible to watch it both on Ustream (link) or on Nico Video Live (link). Don't forget this Thursday's usual blog update, too!
